Tom Brady Remains Firm, Stating “Next Time, That’s It” When It Comes To Retirement
Tom Brady is insistent and adamant that it will be final the next time he decides to hang up his cleats.
The quarterback stated that when he chooses to retire for the second time, that will be it. This comes after he decided to take back his initial retirement and “unretire” at the start of this year’s football season.
Many alleged that his decision to retract his retirement contributed to his divorce from Gisele Bündchen, his supermodel ex-wife, who was seen in mid-December going home to her home in Brazil with their children Vivian and Benjamin.
45-year-old Tom, regarded as the best quarterback of his era, enthralled fans and football enthusiasts alike when he announced his retirement from the game.
In one of his Let’s Go podcasts last Monday, Tom mentioned, “Well, next time I decide to retire, that’s it for me, so whenever that day comes, we’ll figure it out.
As part of his statement, he also shared his thoughts and realizations earlier this year, when he stated that someone must be certain before doing something. He may or not be direct about his two-month retirement last February 2022, but yes, you have to be entirely sure before making life-altering decisions like retirement.
The quarterback further said that he was not alone in needing to return and retract something. Plenty of people do that, and what he wants to do now is take his time, so whenever that time comes to retire, he is optimistic and confident about his decisions.
Following a successful run as part of Tampa Bay, many sports enthusiasts thought that Tom, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, would already call it quits. As fans state, he has proven his skill already, and there’s nothing more that Tom can do because he has defied all odds regarding football. His 22-year career with the NFL was nothing but amazing, and only a few can hold on to the success and stardom—not to mention the support of family and friends in this sports career.
And for forty days, people were happy with his decision to retire and spend time with his family—given that Tom previously shared that Gisele was the one who had always been there for the children and that he had always missed holidays and family milestones.
That was until Tom announced that he would return as the Buccaneers’ quarterback for the NFL 2022-2023 season. Tom revealed in one of his podcast episodes that he felt that he still had a little bit left in him and that the competitive fire was still raging hot.
Throughout the time of his announcement of going back to the field, his wife kept her silence. Then in October, Tom and Gisele announced their divorce after 13 years of marriage. They shared the revelation less than a month into the NFL season.
After their divorce was finalized, both have moved on with their lives, with Gisele going on several trips with their children.
