Travis Barker Hospitalized for Pancreatitis
After being rushed to the emergency room, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker was diagnosed with pancreatitis by doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.
With photos of him lying on a stretcher going viral, his social media followers pointed out that his last tweet before being hospitalized said nothing apart from “God save me.” Fans were understandably concerned, however, the post was apparently a reference to a song with the same title that Barker has with rock musician Machine Gun Kelly.
The 46-year-old drummer was accompanied by his wife Kourtney Kardashian, who followed him as he was admitted to the medical facility for treatment. Sources say that Barker was extremely weak and could barely walk by the time he was rushed to the emergency room.
Barker was first taken to West Hills Hospital where medical staff decided that he needed additional care from another healthcare facility. He was then moved to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by ambulance. After spending the night at the hospital with wife Kourtney by his side, Barker is reportedly doing much better.
Pancreatitis infections are often considered serious and require intensive surgery and care. The condition causes inflammation of the pancreas, leading to a few serious symptoms that include vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, fever, and a rapid heartbeat.
Reports suggest that the musician’s health woes could have been partly due to the colonoscopy he underwent recently. Barker was reportedly in a lot of pain at the time of admission.
Since then, there haven’t been many updates from Kourtney on her social accounts which is pretty understandable. The rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family has been similarly quiet. The only news came from Barker’s 16-year-old daughter, Alabama. Alabama Barker is the musician’s daughter with Shanna Lyn Moakler, an American actress, model, and reality TV star. Posting on her Instagram story, she asked fans to pray for him when reports of his hospital admittance became public. Although she quickly deleted the story, fans had already taken a screenshot of it.
Alabama later gave her (and Travis’) followers an update by posting a story of her hand beside her father’s with the caption, “Thank you guys for all of the prayers and love, I appreciate you & love all of you.”
The update was a relief to Blink-182 fans from all over the world who took it as a sign that the drummer is recovering well.
Atiana De La Hoya, Travis’ stepdaughter, also took to Instagram to share a message. She thanked fans for their warm wishes and messages of concern. “Thank you for the outpouring of love and prayers sent our way at this time. It is heard, felt, and appreciated,” Hoya wrote.
The unfortunate event comes just a few weeks after happier times in Portofino, Italy where Travis and Kourtney officially tied the knot in the presence of their closest friends and family on May 21. The two lovebirds got engaged back in October 2021 when Travis proposed to Kourtney. The couple had confirmed rumors that they were dating back in January 2021 after years of being close friends.
