Zac Efron Finally Reveals The Truth About His Alleged 2021 Plastic Surgery
Speculations that High School Musical alum Zac Efron has undergone plastic surgery have mellowed down, but the truth is finally unleashed, with the actor revealing why his face changed so much in 2021.
Zac claimed that his face’s massive and evident transformation happened because of a nasty freak accident in his home. No, he hasn’t had any plastic surgery, but the 34-year-old actor’s change in appearance is entirely the result of his slipping on a pair of socks while running about his house.
This caused Zac to smash his chin into his house’s granite fountain. Zac hit his chin on the granite fountain in his house as a result. The star’s injury was so severe that he was rendered unconscious. When he awoke, his chin bone was hanging off his face, and his jaw had been broken.
The actor further explained that the injury caused his jaw and masseter muscles to double in size and continue growing, thus attributing to the massive difference in his facial features.
This revelation finally sheds light on the issue and shuts down speculations that he underwent plastic surgery. The hunky actor and singer disclosed these facts in the October 2022 Men’s Health Magazine issue, which he will grace as the front cover model.
Additionally, the Lucky One actor claimed that he had no idea that his appearance had been the talk of the town and social media. He was unaware that his different-looking jaw had gone viral and that people assumed he had plastic surgery. That was until his mother called him to clarify the issue and ask if he had gone under the knife.
If you recall, Zac blew up on Twitter around April 2021 after his appearance on a video celebrating Earth Day. Everyone noticed a more prominent square chin and thicker jawline. This led fans to believe that Zac may have had plastic surgery to alter his appearance.
Although more than a year late, Kyle Sandilands, Zac’s friend, commented last week that he knows and is confident that his Baywatch star pal will never go under the knife. He further compared Zac to an oil painting by the Old Masters.
Kyle, 50, an Australian radio host who has been friends with Zac for years, clarified the assumption on The Kyle and Jackie O Show and stated that he would know if Zac had any plastic surgery and that the actor hadn’t had any work done on his body. He also mentioned that plastic surgery was pointless because Zac was already good-looking.
What triggered Kyle to speak out was probably the conversation with plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn who offered his opinion on Zac’s new look. The doctor uploaded a TikTok video claiming that surgery may have been involved, but dental surgery and not plastic surgery.
The plastic surgeon also suggested that the swelling around his jawline might have been brought on by the removal of wisdom teeth. But when Zac eventually spoke up, he clarified that there had been no surgery of any kind involved, only a minor accident that occurred at home.
