50 Cent Accuses Liquor Distributor Of Embezzlement, Vows Justice
In a fiery Instagram post, 50 Cent, the renowned actor and rapper, didn’t hold back as he accused Beam Suntory, the parent company of his liquor brand Sire Spirits, of involvement in a costly embezzlement plot. The 48-year-old artist expressed his determination for justice, declaring that the corporate giant “will pay for what they did.”
“@beamsuntory is gonna pay for what they did trust me. These big companies think they can get away with anything. It has cost me millions in legal fees. They are gonna find out I’m not the one you want to play with. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi,” 50 Cent wrote.
Backing his claims with evidence, 50 Cent shared a FOX 5 NY report on Instagram, accompanied by a stern warning to Beam Suntory. He emphasized the significant financial toll the alleged scheme had taken on him, stressing that he wouldn’t be taken lightly.
Highlighting Beam Suntory’s purported involvement, 50 Cent disclosed a letter sent by the company to their alleged co-conspirators.
“This is the letter @beamsuntory sent without my knowledge to the people involved in the scheme that cost me millions. Do I really need to hold a press conference to walk everyone through exactly what happened … This will make a great unscripted project. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi,” he wrote.
Documents obtained by PEOPLE shed light on the legal battle initiated by the In Da Club musician in February 2023, where he accused Beam Suntory of complicity in an embezzlement scheme. Allegations included overpayments for liquor and kickbacks totaling approximately $6 million, causing financial strain on Sire Spirits.
Craig Weiner, an attorney for Sire Spirits, echoed these allegations, highlighting Beam Suntory’s purported role in facilitating the fraud. He emphasized the troubling nature of the company’s involvement, citing specific executives allegedly implicated in the scheme.
“Because these illicit commissions were baked into the price of the product, Sire Spirits overpaid on taxes, overpaid on customs and duties, overpaid on insurance, which are marked towards the value of the product,” Craig told FOX 5 NY.
Beam Suntory has denied any wrongdoing, asserting that they had no knowledge or involvement in the fraudulent activities outlined in the complaint. Despite their denial, the legal battle rages on, with both parties steadfast in their positions.
Former Sire Spirits employee Mitchell Green has already pleaded guilty to wire fraud in connection with the alleged scheme. According to FOX 5 NY, he stole $2 million from the liquor company.
