Allison Holker Shuts Down Rumors About tWitch And Ellen DeGeneres
Allison Holker wants the world to know the truth.
After the heartbreaking death of her husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, rumors started swirling that he and Ellen DeGeneres had grown distant after The Ellen DeGeneres Show ended in May 2022. But according to Allison, nothing could be further from the truth.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the 36-year-old dancer made it clear that Ellen was always a positive force in Stephen’s life.
“I don’t love when I see rumors flying around,” she said, “and it was really disappointing for me to see people tried bringing Ellen to the situation and targeting her.”
Allison emphasized that not only were the rumors untrue, but that Ellen had been a huge source of support. “Ellen’s wonderful, and she’s just been a support system. If anything, she was a great example to Stephen,” she continued. “They had a great relationship, and he loved that relationship with her. They had something that was so special. I hope people can see that that bond is something that we shouldn’t tear down.”
Ellen, 67, has continued to honor Stephen’s memory. On the second anniversary of his passing in December, she shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram: “Wherever I am, I feel you with me. I love you, tWitch.”
Just two months after Stephen’s death, Ellen, along with close friends like Derek Hough, Loni Love, and So You Think You Can Dance cast members, gathered in Los Angeles for an emotional celebration of life. Guests received “Move with Kindness” wristbands and were encouraged to donate to the Move with Kindness Foundation, a mental health initiative Allison created in Stephen’s honor.
Stephen first joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show as a guest DJ in 2014 before becoming a co-executive producer in 2020. His infectious energy made him a beloved part of the show — and his bond with Ellen was one that Allison hopes people will continue to respect.
