Ariana Grande Reunites With Manager Scooter Braun About 10 Months After Parting Ways
Ariana Grande has rekindled her professional relationship with longtime manager Scooter Braun, months after they parted ways. The news was confirmed on Wednesday, June 12, in a joint statement by representatives of the Eternal Sunshine singer and HYBE.
“Ariana Grande and HYBE, led by CEO Scooter Braun, look forward to continuing their long-standing business partnership and pursuing creative opportunities in Weverse and REM Beauty,” the statement read.
This marks a new chapter for Ariana, who will also be managed exclusively by Brandon Creed of Good World Management.
The reunion comes after Ariana, 30, decided to part ways with Scooter, 42, earlier this year. Scooter, who became the sole CEO of HYBE America in January following the merger of his company Ithaca Holdings with HYBE in April 2021, had been Ariana’s manager for nearly a decade. At the time of their split, a source close to the Positions singer told PEOPLE that it was her decision to move on.
“They are friendly, but she’s outgrown him and is excited to go in a different direction. Yes, there are negotiations happening because of contracts. But this is her choice. It’s time for something new,” the source said.
Despite the initial separation, it seems both parties have found common ground to continue their collaboration. A music industry insider revealed that “all of Scooter Braun’s clients are under contract and negotiations have been going on for several months as Scooter steps into his larger role as HYBE America CEO.”
The insider added, “People are spreading rumors based on what they know, but they are off. Scooter’s team at SB Projects are still handling both Justin [Bieber] and Ariana as they work through what this new structure looks like.”
This isn’t the first time Ariana and Scooter have experienced a brief hiatus in their working relationship. In 2018, Scooter opened up to Variety about a similar situation, where Ariana fired and then rehired him before the release of her 2016 album.
Reflecting on that period, he said, “They were like, ‘Never take her back!,’ but I just said ‘Let’s stay quiet and let our truth be our actions.’ She starts to see the light on some stuff, and one day I got a phone call.” Scooter noted that this experience made him a “better manager.”
Interestingly, Ariana’s break with Scooter was followed by news that another one of his clients, Demi Lovato, had parted ways with him.
