Beyoncé Channels Pamela Anderson In Halloween-Inspired Music Video With A Message For Election Day
This Election Day, Beyoncé has a surprise in store for fans — and it’s all about voting. The music superstar dropped the video for her new track Bodyguard from her album Cowboy Carter on November 5. The video, which is her first visual release from the album, is full of iconic Pamela Pamela looks and a powerful reminder to vote.
The video features Beyoncé dressed in Pamela’s most famous outfits, including her memorable red swimsuit from Baywatch. Only this time, the one-piece reads “Beywatch,” bringing Beyoncé’s signature humor to the look. Alongside the recreation, Beyoncé included calls to vote, with a flag bearing the word “VOTE” popping out of a toy gun.
In her Instagram post about the release, Beyoncé showed off her Pamela-inspired costumes, adding a series of nostalgic references that fans quickly spotted. She even named the video “Beywatch” on YouTube — a nod to Pamela’s classic Baywatch role as C.J. Parker. The message was clear – voting matters, but having fun while delivering that message is even better.
This isn’t Beyoncé’s first foray into the election world this season. Last month, she endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, appearing in Houston to show her support. In fact, Beyoncé allowed Harris’s campaign to use her song Freedom from Cowboy Carter in promotional events, including at the Democratic National Convention.
Pamela herself seemed to enjoy the tribute, posting a heartfelt comment on Instagram, “LOVE 🤍,” in response to Beyoncé’s post. Beyoncé fans, known as the BeyHive, were thrilled by the surprise release, playfully calling the VMAs the “No Visual Awards” — a tease at how long they’ve been waiting for more visuals from Beyoncé’s recent albums.
Throughout the video, Beyoncé also recreated two more of Pamela’s signature looks. First was the black corset and leather gloves from Barb Wire, the 1995 movie that defined Pamela’s edgy image. And for the grand finale, Beyoncé brought back the actress’ unforgettable 1999 MTV VMAs outfit – a glittery pink hat paired with a white corset and sequined pants. That hat, designed by Ivy Supersonic, became a pop culture sensation and remains one of the most iconic accessories of all time.
