Blake Lively Shuts Down Divorce Rumors With A Perfect Clapback
Blake Lively isn’t letting rumors affect her marriage to Ryan Reynolds. On Monday, July 22, she responded to an Instagram comment about their relationship with her usual humor. A fan commented on her post about Reynolds’ upcoming movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, suggesting they post more pictures together to dispel divorce rumors.
The fan wrote, “You and Ryan need to post more of each other, there were rumors going around that you two got divorced and I didn’t believe it because you two are literally the perfect couple ❤️.”
Blake simply replied, “Haha they wish 😂.”
The post included a professional photo of the 36-year-old and Ryan, 47, sharing a kiss on the set of his new movie, with him in full Deadpool makeup. In her caption, Blake added a playful touch: “Brb I’m buying milky pens to write your name on my hand @vancityreynolds,” nodding to the “millennial girl” references in the film.
Deadpool & Wolverine features a plethora of nostalgic references, from Avril Lavigne’s I’m with You to Harry Potter, Frozen, Céline Dion, *NSYNC, and even My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Blake’s video montage began with her telling the camera, “Tell me Deadpool’s married to a millennial girl in real life without telling me…”
Blake further celebrated her husband’s film on her Instagram Stories, posting the same video and writing, “Find you a man who honors you like this boy.”
She included a clever nod to the “I love you” beeper code from the ’90s and early 2000s: “143 to all my Y2K girlies.”
In her Instagram-grid post, Blake joked about competing at the box office with her own movie, It Ends with Us, also coming out soon. She admitted she couldn’t help but cheer for Ryan’s film, appreciating its dedication to the millennial era. She wrote, “It’s hard not to encourage my ladies to spot all the ways we’ve influenced @deadpoolmovie I’ve never been more proud. And I’ve given birth 4 times. 🤣❤️💛.”
Blake and Ryan have been married since 2012 and share four children – 9-year-old James, 7-year-old Inez, 4-year-old Betty, and a fourth child born in 2023. Earlier this month, Blake joked about Ryan trying to get her “pregnant again.”
Ryan, the youngest of four brothers, recently hinted to E! News about possibly expanding their family even more. “The more the merrier,” he teased in a joint interview with his “Deadpool & Wolverine” co-star Hugh Jackman. “As many as possible.”
