Brad Pitt Says He’d Work With Tom Cruise Again — But On One Condition
Brad Pitt just gave fans of Interview with the Vampire a reason to smile. While promoting his upcoming racing film F1 in Mexico City on June 9, Brad opened up about the possibility of reuniting on-screen with his former co-star Tom Cruise. The answer? A cautious yes — as long as Tom agrees to stay out of the sky.
“I’m not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and s— like that,” Brad, 61, joked to E! News, referring to Tom’s now-legendary habit of doing wild stunts. “So… when he does something again that’s on the ground.”
It’s been over three decades since the two shared blood-soaked screen time as Louis and Lestat in the iconic 1994 adaptation of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire. And while their vampire days are behind them, the duo clearly still hold mutual respect and a shared history of speed.
Brad lit up when he heard that Tom, 62, had recently praised F1, a new sports drama directed by Top Gun: Maverick’s Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. “It’s so sweet,” Brad said, adding. “He’s so sweet.”
Tom’s support came earlier this year during CinemaCon 2025, where he spoke about his Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and gave a surprising shout-out to Brad, F1, and the team behind the film. “Brad’s got a new movie with Jerry Bruckheimer, Joe Kosinski,” he said. “…Can’t wait to see that this summer. It’ll be awesome.”
But it wasn’t just cinematic admiration that bonded them. Turns out, they were racing rivals long before either of them played a driver on-screen.
“[Brad’s] a very good driver,” Tom admitted. “Believe me, I’ve raced against him. When we were doing Interview with the Vampire, we’d go and race go-karts. We’d literally finish and go drive go-karts all night.”
Brad remembers those midnight kart races clearly. “We did have our go-kart days back in the ‘90s, the early ‘90s,” he said. Though he proudly held his own, he gave Tom his props: “He got me in the end, I gotta tell you.”
Director Kosinski, who knows both actors well, also weighed in on the idea of Tom behind the wheel in F1. “Tom always pushes it to the limit,” he told GQ, “but at the same time is super capable and very skilled.” Still, he admitted the actor might’ve made things more intense.
