Britney Spears Announces Second Memoir for Next Year
Apparently, a single tell-all memoir wasn’t enough. Pop princess Britney Spears announced this weekend that her second memoir will be out next year—much to the delight, surprise, and everything in between from friends and followers.
The “Stronger” hitmaker used Instagram to post the big news. Recall that her first and newly released memoir, The Woman In Me, contained bombshell revelations that caused a frenzy. One of the most brutal revelations was directed at ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake. But there were also bits and pieces against her old rival Christina Aguilera and her family.
At the beginning of October, 41-year-old Britney dished that a second volume of her memoir was already in progress. Her post last Saturday provided more insights on what’s more to come.
The 90s hitmaker reposted a video of a musician swinging down an enormous Mahler hammer during a performance. She captioned the image with, “Humor is the cure to everything! Play on! Volume 2 will be released next year…get ready!”
After less than one day of her social media break, Britney is back again—this time with more controversial photos. She posted another jaw-dropping picture of herself two days ago that caused mayhem among her 42 million Instagram followers.
The photo showed Britney naked on a beach. Although her body was facing away from the camera, her backside was exposed and in full view while she grinned mischievously over her shoulders.
It wasn’t the first time that Britney shared her sexy and daring photos online—much to the dismay of her ex-Kevin Federline and the father of her two sons. According to Kevin, their sons are having difficulties at school and get asked questions about their mother’s daring social media posts.
Meanwhile, Britney’s newly released memoir has not been a pleasant experience for the people who were mentioned. Justin Timberlake, in particular, has admitted frustration over how he was portrayed. The two dated from 1999 to 2022. At the beginning of their relationship, Britney was 17 while Justin was 18 years old. Based on Britney’s account, the singer got her pregnant and encouraged her to get an abortion because he wasn’t ready to be a father at the time.
Because of all the online hate that Justin received, the singer turned off the comments on his Instagram account. He claims the controversy and stress it caused overshadowed his wedding anniversary with wife and Hollywood actress Jessica Biel.
Several netizens pointed out that Justin shouldn’t be upset because the former boyband member has made several public digs at Britney in the years following their breakup. For one, many believe that his song “Cry Me a River” was directed at his ex with lyrics like, “The bridges were burned / Now it’s your turn, to cry / Cry me a river.”
Although Justin has not talked publicly about the book, NSYNC bandmate Lance Bass spoke up for his friend. Speaking to TMZ, Lance said, “Everyone has their own opinion, but I feel the whole world is so full of hate right now that we need to practice a little forgiveness. Britney did, so let’s take a note from her. Everyone deserves to tell their story. She did, and, you know, I hope the fans can, again, find some forgiveness.”
