Britney Spears Buys Horse and More Divorce Details
For months, speculations have surfaced that pop princess Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari’s relationship is in trouble. Although the two have denied anything was amiss in their marital life, the real deets were finally revealed after Sam filed for divorce last Wednesday.
In a bizarre post made by Britney on her social media account where she was pictured wearing a sunny yellow bikini and riding a horse with the beach in the background, the 41-year-old Grammy award winner penned, “Buying a horse soon!!! So many options it’s kinda hard!!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar?”
The Hit Me Baby One More Time hitmaker further added, “I can’t make up my mind!!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on??? Either way, I think I found my sweet spot with Road.”
The post was published several hours after Britney stopped wearing her wedding ring and news about her marriage with 29-year-old Sam exploded.
One of the significant concerns regarding their divorce is their finances. According to Neal Hersh, Sam’s legal representative, there is still plenty to be decided. This is the case even if the couple had an ironclad prenuptial agreement that secured Britney’s assets before her marriage to Sam.
According to Hersh, “[Sam] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party. There are various community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time.”
One close source revealed, however, that there is minimal to zero chance that the prenup will not be followed. At the end of the day, Britney will most likely write a check to Sam and be done with it.
According to Page Six, Britney interests are being protected by Laura Wasser, a well-known celebrity divorce lawyer who also handled the cases of Kevin Costner, Kim Kardashian, and Johnny Depp.
Many believe the divorce will not be clean and peaceful because Sam allegedly threatened to release incriminating information about his former spouse should Britney refuse to review his terms and re-negotiate. Friends of the couple shrug off the idea as absurd, knowing that it isn’t Sam’s personality to resort to blackmail.
In 2008, Wasser also represented Britney during her custody battle with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Kevin and Britney were married for two years before they called it quits. During that time, Britney fought hard to get full custody of their sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston.
As far as Sam and Britney’s prenup is concerned, the agreement is very much in Britney’s favor. As of now, it is still unclear if Sam will receive any financial support from the time they were married. Britney is reportedly worth $60 million.
News about the divorce started making waves online after it was reported that Sam and Britney had a major disagreement that had Sam confronting his wife about her unfaithfulness. It was a fight that ultimately had Sam moving out of their marital home.
