Britney Spears Dives Into Equestrian World Amidst News Of Divorce
Pop icon Britney Spears has announced her intention to acquire a horse, just hours after news broke of her divorce from husband Sam Asghari. The 41-year-old singer took to Instagram to share her horseback adventure from a tranquil beach location, leaving her 42 million followers intrigued.
With her signature charm, Britney captioned her post, “Buying a horse soon 🐴 !!! So many options it’s kinda hard !!!” She revealed that she’s considering naming the horses “Sophie” and “Roar,” playfully pondering whether to don a pink cowboy hat as part of her new equestrian journey.
She admitted, “I can’t make up my mind 🙈 !!!” However, she seemed to lean towards choosing “Roar” as her equine companion, sharing, “Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar 😘 !!!”
While the singer avoided any reference to her divorce or estranged husband in her Instagram caption, the post’s comment section was conspicuously turned off. This move was likely an effort to keep the focus on her exciting new venture.
Sources close to the couple confirmed that Britney and Sam had decided to separate after just over a year of marriage. Britney’s previous marriages have been a topic of public interest, having wed childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004, followed by a short-lived marriage to former backup dancer Kevin Federline. Her most recent marriage to Sam, whom she met on the set of her Slumber Party music video, culminated in a grand wedding in June 2022.
However, cracks had reportedly appeared in their relationship earlier this year. In February, insiders within the Gimme More singer’s circle expressed concern about the state of the marriage. Speculation about their marital struggles arose in March, but at the time, Sam’s representative Brandon Cohen dismissed the rumors. According to Brandon then, Sam took his ring off because he was in the middle of filming a movie.
Despite public attention on their wedding bands, Sam’s spokesperson clarified that he had removed his ring temporarily due to his involvement in a film project. Sam, a model and aspiring actor, had recently landed a role in a television series. Before their marriage, he reportedly provided unwavering support to Britney during her battles with mental health and the ongoing conservatorship controversy. He played a significant role in her life during her stay at a wellness facility in 2019 and also stood by her side during her conservatorship hearing in 2021.
