Busy Philipps Opens Up About Her Experience On Entourage Despite Disliking The Show
Busy Philipps revealed her less-than-favorable opinion of the hit series Entourage during a podcast appearance this week.
The actress, 44, spoke on the Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino podcast on April 23, discussing her episode on Entourage titled Dog Day Afternoon. In the episode, Busy portrayed Cheryl, one of the girls whom Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) and Johnny “Drama” Chase (Kevin Dillon) attempted to pick up with their dog.
“Full disclosure. Like, I f–king hated that show. And I remember, though, being sort of told, like, ‘This is the thing you like, you should do this.’ Like, ‘you gotta do that. If you’re a hot girl, like, like and you wanna be like, you gotta be on Entourage,’” she revealed.
Despite her dislike for the show, Busy disclosed that she auditioned for a role on Entourage multiple times and highlighted the warm reception she received from the cast, particularly from Jerry Ferrara, with whom she shared a makeout scene.
Busy reminisced about filming the episode before the era of intimacy coordinators on set, recalling how she took Jerry aside to discuss their kiss. She reassured him, drawing from her experience on Dawson’s Creek, where she had done a similar scene.
As she recounted, “I remember, like, taking him aside and being, like, ‘Okay. Look. Like, here’s how this is gonna work.’ Because it was post Dawson’s Creek that I did that. So I had obviously done a lot of making out on the on the creek. [So I was like], ‘I need this. I know how to do it, Jerry. Listen, nothing to be nervous about.’ So, like, yeah. I remember having this whole conversation, and he was so nice.”
Entourage, which aired from 2004 to 2011, garnered critical acclaim and multiple awards during its eight-season run. The cast, including Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, and Jeremy Piven, remained close even after the series concluded.
In April 2021, Axdrian discussed the potential for a revival or a second movie, indicating ongoing interest in revisiting the Entourage universe. While he expressed openness to reprising his role, he emphasized that it would depend on the offer presented.
