Cameron Diaz Finally Exits Hollywood To Focus On Being Mom And Wife, Insider Says

Hollywood might not be seeing Cameron Diaz come back for another film as a source close to her revealed that she wants more time for her family.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail, a source close to the 50-year-old actress revealed that her lengthy work schedule has left her with very little time for her husband, Benji Madden, and Raddix, their three-year-old daughter.

While Cameron initially retired from Hollywood in 2018 to spend more time with Benji, she later returned for a role in the action comedy Back In Action, thanks to a push by her close friend Jamie Foxx. However, that movie project suffered a setback when Jamie had a meltdown on the UK set, and three people were fired.

According to the source, the issue with the comeback movie also contributed to the Charlie’s Angels actress’ resolve to stay off the screens. Now, she doesn’t even want to be back. While the source said she and Jamie do not have any altercation between them, she hates the “drama and confrontation” that happens on movie sets every now and then.

“These back-to-back 10-hour workdays have been a lot on her and she hates being away from Raddix,” the source stated.

“She hates drama and confrontation. This is why she retired from the business in the first place,” the source said further.

The source added that Cameron’s decision to retire from the movie industry is enabled by her proven status. According to them, she has “nothing left to prove to anyone.”

Cameron’s initial decision to leave Hollywood in favor of quality time with her husband paid off as the couple welcomed their daughter in December 2019. The source told Daily Mail that Benji is in support of his wife’s retirement. While he also backs his wife’s job, it reportedly takes its toll on him as he barely sees her when she’s on set.

“Benji is supportive of everything that Cameron does, but it has been a lot on him. Although she has gotten to see her family while shooting the film, it is just not the same,” the source stated.

Cameron has had a successful run in the movie industry, with more than 40 commercially successful films including Being John Malkovich and In a World. At some point in Hollywood, she was the highest-paid actress. Her walk from movie sets would not be her last paid venture, however, as she has her own wine brand named Avaline. The brand, launched in 2020 with partner Katherine Powers, serves as a new outlet for her to showcase her creativity while still having time to build her family.
