Chris Evans and His Wife Had Two Secret Marriage Ceremonies
After rumors surfaced that Captain America star Chris Evans tied the knot with girlfriend Alba Baptista, he confirmed that he indeed married her in Cape Cod.
His Cape Cod nuptials were an intimate gathering with only friends and family, including Marvel co-stars like Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr.
While at the Comic Con in New York City last weekend, the 42-year-old heartthrob shared that he and Alba got married twice—much to the delight and surprise of those in attendance. The superhero revealed, “It was really, really great. We kinda had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal. My wife’s Portuguese. Yeah, go Portugal!”
To prove his new civil status, he proudly wore his gold wedding brand in full view of those in Javits Center. He also quietly admitted how he managed to handle the stress of planning two weddings on two continents. He stated that it was a feat that they pulled it off.
The actor confessed, “They were wonderful and beautiful. It’s a lot planning a wedding. For those of you who are married, it takes a lot out of you. Now that we’re through that, we’ve just kinda been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn, my favorite season. It’s, like, the best time of year right now.”
After their weddings, Chris shared that he and Alba are just relaxing for now, enjoying life and reflecting.
Despite being Chris’ first interview after officially getting hitched, details obtained by Page Six revealed that the East Coast wedding was tight and locked down. The attendees were asked to sign non-disclosure agreements while their phones were secured.
According to People, celebrity guests included Jeremy Renner, John Krasinski, and his wife Emily Blunt. The wives of Thor and Iron Man, Elsa Pataky and Susan Downey, were also there.
Earlier this year, Chris made his relationship with Alba public. He shared a cute video of him and his 26-year-old partner trying to scare each other. He also captioned the clip by looking back on last year and ending his post with three heart emojis. This was a subtle but clear indication of his love life with the budding actress.
News about Chris dating Alba surfaced as early as November of last year. Described as a serious relationship, the two exclusively dated each other for more than a year. One source revealed that Chris and Alba are in love and that the actor has never been happier. Even the family and friends of Chris adore the petite Portuguese woman.
Recall that last year, during a separate interview, Chris shared that he was very content with this personal life and would like to settle down and have a family one day.
During an interview with Elle, he revealed, “That’s absolutely something I want: wife, kids, building a family. When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships; the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”
