Chris Rock Mocks Meghan Markle’s Claim About The Royal Family Being Racist, Following Meghan And Harry’s Oprah Interview
In his just-released Netflix Special on March 4, Chris Rock dunks Meghan Markle’s claims that the royal family was racist toward her.
The two-and-a-half-hour long special, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, saw the Comedian slam both Meghan Markle, Will Smith, and wokeness. While talking about the Duchess, he stated that she has “won the light-skinned lottery” and that “even black people want to know how brown” her son with Prince Harry would be.
His reference in the Saturday night special was about the 2022 interview the Sussexes had with Oprah Winfrey, where Meghan pointed out that a senior royal family member questioned how dark-skinned Archie would be.
In his live show, Chris goes, “Like, who is this girl Meghan Markle? Seems like a nice lady; just complaining. Like, didn’t she hit the light-skinned lottery?”
The comedian highlights a comment the Duchess of Sussexes made during her Oprah interview: “They’re so racist, they’re so racist.”
Mocking the princess, he said, “Some of that s*** she went through was not racism. It was just some in-law’s s***.”
He then notes that when she complains, he’s like, “What the f*** is she talking about.”
Chris further slams Meghan, stating that not only did her white in-laws want to know how dark the baby will be, but “even black people want to know how brown the baby going to be.” He tells his audience that black people can tell the complexion of a baby by doing a “scientific test” of checking “behind the ears.”
However, he acknowledges that he understands Meghan Markle’s challenges with her in-laws. “I know her dilemma: Black girl trying to be accepted by her white in-laws. Oh, it’s hard. It’s so hard, it’s very hard–but it ain’t as hard as a white girl trying to be accepted by her black in-laws. Now that s*** is really hard,” the comedian said.
He gives his two cents to Meghan, stating, “if you wanted to be accepted by your white in-laws, then you need to marry a Kardashian because they accept everybody.”
Over a couple of months, Harry and Meghan have given the rest of the world an explicit look into their saga with the Royal family. Following their Oprah interview last year, they released a documentary, Harry and Meghan, detailing Meghan’s ordeal with the Royal family and the British press.
Earlier in January, Harry released his tell-all memoir Spare, chronicling his family, his marriage to Meghan, and the alleged bully they’ve endured with paparazzi.
