Chris Rock Wants Jada Pinkett Smith To Stop Dragging Him Into Her Family’s Controversies
Chris Rock has had enough of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s ongoing marital drama. The American comedian is downright frustrated that his name is still being dragged into the Smith’s issues, especially now that Jada Pinkett has been promoting her tell-all book.
Recall that the 58-year-old comedian was slapped in the face by Will while on stage at last year’s Oscars ceremony after he made a joke about Jada’s alopecia.
For the most part, Chris maintained his silence after being publicly slapped, but now, he is being dragged back into the controversy. The 52-year-old Girls Trip actress even revealed that Chris once asked her out on a date while she and Will were entangled in another divorce issue.
One source explained, “Chris has said his piece on the entire Will Smith slap, but now with these new revelations from Jada that she and Will have been living separate lives, it is just another WTF moment in the whole saga from these past few years between Chris, her, and Will.
Further shedding light on what Chris is experiencing, the insider further shared, “Chris hates that she keeps bringing it up and the other revelations about Chris asking her on a date. He is a relatively private person and was getting to a point where people may have started to move on, but now it is back in the limelight, and it’s just frustrating that everything is coming back to the forefront.”
The source concluded, “Chris is over it and would love for her to keep his name out of her damn mouth.” This statement is similar to what Will told Chris during the slapping incident when he said, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f*****g mouth.”
Jada, who admitted that she was shocked by Will’s outburst, claimed that after Chris’s joke, he leaned over to her and quickly apologized. This should have put the case to rest, but the gesture made Will angrier.
Jada explained, “Will’s still talking ’cause now he’s mad because Chris is talking to me, and I go, ‘Chris, this is about some old s**t.’ That’s all I could think to say.”
Chris’ annoyance comes after he was seen and pictured in Paris a second time after Jada’s two interviews were released. The comic was casually dressed in the city wearing a pair of cream pants and a brown sweater.
The explosive interviews that Jada has been unleashing included her calling Tupac her soulmate. She also announced that she has been quietly separated from her husband for seven years. During her conversion with People, Jada revealed, “I think every summer, all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce. And this particular summer, Chris, he thought that we were getting a divorce.”
Jada continued that Chris called her and said that he would love to take her out. Confused, Jada asked what he meant and Chris replied, “Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?” Jada quickly clarified that the divorce was just rumors.
According to the actress, Chris was appalled and apologized profusely.
Jada also shares that she hasn’t spoken with Chris since the infamous slap. Speaking to the publication, Jada said, “[Do I have] any desire to talk to Chris? Here’s my desire: I hope all the misunderstandings around this can be cleared up and there can be peace. I talk about this in the book; I think there might be some misunderstanding between Chris and me regarding the 2016 Oscars.”
Pondering, the actress continued, “I think that he might’ve taken offense, which I meant no harm in offending. That wasn’t my intention. But I do think that there’s a big misunderstanding there.”
