Chrissy Teigen’s Culinary Confession: “I Can’t Believe I Did This To People!”
In a recent appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Chrissy Teigen, the renowned model and cookbook author, made a candid confession that left her fans surprised. Known for her laborious recipes, Chrissy admitted that she no longer follows her own cooking guidelines.
The model, a mother of four, shared with co-host Kelly Ripa that her approach to cooking has evolved. She stated, “If I were to do a cookbook now, it would be like 10-minute recipes because I don’t cook the way I used to.” This revelation comes after the Teigen-Legend family welcomed two new members in 2023: Esti Maxine in January and son Wren Alexander via surrogate in June. With more mouths to feed, Chrissy finds herself simplifying her cooking methods.
Gone are the days when she’d advise people to meticulously select fresh ingredients like thyme leaves. She chuckled as she recalled, “I used to tell people outrageous things like, ‘Make sure to get fresh thyme and take the time to pick the leaves.’ And now I’m like, ‘Uhhhhh, no!'” Kelly couldn’t help but reminisce about Chrissy previous cooking advice shared on the show.
She went on to confess, “If I make my lasagna now, I’m like, ‘This is evil! I can’t believe I did this to people!'” The transformation in her cooking philosophy reflects the challenges of managing a bustling household while juggling a flourishing career.
Despite her shift away from intricate recipes, Chrissy is embracing new culinary ventures. She shared her enthusiasm for creating and marketing a range of products available nationwide in grocery stores, including cookies, banana bread, pancakes, and waffles.
One exciting element of Chrissy’s culinary career is her new TV series, Chrissy & Dave Dine Out. In collaboration with Momofuku founder David Chang, the show takes viewers on a gastronomic journey through the vibrant food scene of greater Los Angeles. It promises not only mouthwatering eats but also candid conversations with famous guests, covering topics from their personal lives to their most embarrassing stories.
“We’re taking the coolest people we know out for a bunch of insanely delicious meals,” Chrissy teased. The premiere episode, airing on Jan. 24 on Freeform and available for streaming on Hulu the following day, features Jimmy Kimmel and his wife, writer-producer Molly McNearney. Future episodes will include guests like Regina Hall, Alexandra Daddario, Simu Liu, Eric Nam, Kumail Nanjiani, Sasheer Zamata, Reid Scott, and Randall Park.
