Christina Hall Says She Is Grateful For Independence Amid Divorce
Christina Hall, the beloved HGTV star, is embracing gratitude and independence in the midst of life changes. On September 4, Christina, 41, took to Instagram to thank her parents, Paul and Laurie Haack, for teaching her one of life’s most valuable lessons – the importance of hard work and making her own money.
“Thanks mom & dad for always teaching me about hard work and making sure I knew the importance of making my own money,” Christina captioned a selfie, showing her smiling confidently in sunglasses with her hair styled in a relaxed middle part.
In the post, shared during her ongoing divorce from Josh Hall, Christina emphasized that while money doesn’t directly buy happiness, it provides freedom.
“It doesn’t buy ‘happiness,’ but it does buy more opportunities & less people being able to mess with me … and that makes me happy,” she added with a wink and heart emoji.
This message of self-reliance comes during a transitional period for the real-estate mogul, as her marriage to Josh Hall, 43, ends after almost three years. Court documents revealed that Josh filed for divorce in July, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting spousal support.
Christina quickly responded, asking that neither party receive spousal support. This tough and clear-headed approach reflects the very independence her parents instilled in her.
Despite the turbulence in her personal life, Christina is staying confident and carefree. Just a day earlier, she shared another Instagram post after getting her hair and makeup done. “It’s giving confident and carefree — because when the glam is on point, so is the energy,” her makeup artist, Julia Gonzales, captioned the post.
As Christina moves forward, her focus remains on her three children – 4-year-old Hudson, 4, from her marriage to Ant Anstead, and 13-year-old Taylor Reese, and 9-year-old Brayden James, from her previous marriage to Flip or Flop co-star Tarek El Moussa. She’s making sure her children get the same adventure-filled life she values.
In fact, last month, Christina whisked her kids away on a summer getaway, sharing their adventure through Instagram Stories. One image showed her standing next to a door, ready to conquer the world, with the caption, “When traveling alone with 4 kids to LAX, this is the only way to get stress-free.”
She even gave a nod to the VIP travel service she was using. “Snacks on snacks and a cocktail for mama,” she quipped, showing a kitchen stocked with goodies before boarding a plane.
The trip seemed like the perfect escape, and Christina’s posts ended with a serene image of her and her children boarding the plane, ready for the next adventure.
“Easy breezy,” she wrote, reflecting the calm she’s found in the midst of change.
