Ciara Talks Post-Baby Body: “Russell Says ‘More to Grab On’”

Ciara is fully embracing the changes in her body after welcoming her fourth child, and her husband Russell Wilson is all for it! The 39-year-old singer recently shared how she feels about her postpartum journey and the fast-paced return to work after giving birth to her daughter, Amora, in December 2023.

In a conversation with Bustle for The Little Things issue, Ciara opened up about how quickly she had to transition back to the stage. Just a few months after having Amora, she was already deep into rehearsals, preparing to join Missy Elliott on tour. “That was a little out-of-body for me,” she admitted, adding, “It’s not the first time I’ve had to do this. I’ve been there before, but your body changes as you get older. I’m trying to embrace every step.”

She reflected on how her perspective has shifted over time. “I would’ve probably been so hard on myself before because I hadn’t made it back to where I was, post-baby,” she shared. But now, she’s approaching things with a more positive mindset. “I also was kind of loving this fourth-baby version of me,” she added, noting that Amora “definitely put a little bit more on my hips.”

Luckily, Russell is her biggest cheerleader. “…As Russell says, ‘more to grab on,'” Ciara laughed. She does have fitness goals, though. “I want to lean up a little bit more, tone up more, and he’s like, ‘Don’t get crazy.'”

Ciara and Russell share three children together: 4-year-old Win, 7-year-old Sienna, and 14-month-old baby Amora. Ciara is also mom to 10-year-old son Future Zahir, from her previous relationship with rapper Future.

Back in December, the family of six shared a beautiful Christmas photo on Instagram. Ciara wore a sleek black turtleneck while holding Amora, who looked adorable in a black dress with a white bow. Next to her, Win rocked a black suit, giving the camera a serious look, while Sienna smiled sweetly in a stylish black skirt and fingerless gloves. Russell sat beside his older daughter, dressed sharply in a suit, while Future grinned in his own suit and white sneakers, hands resting on his legs. They captioned the post: “Merry Christmas! Love, The Wilsons 🖤🎄.”
