Cut! Pete is Erased from the Kardashians
Pete Davidson, also called Skete by Kim’s ex-husband, has been cut from another scene in Hulu’s The Kardashians. The SNL star was removed from the family’s Florida visit seen in this week’s episode, which was shot in the spring.
Just days earlier, the mom-of-four was seen on the “In Never Thought I’d See the Day” episode, flying to Ripley’s Believe It or Not headquarters.
She headed to Orlando to try on Marilyn Monroe’s iconic 1962 Jean Louis gown—which is, by the way, the most expensive piece of clothing in the world. She wanted to try the famous “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” dress one more time to see if her grueling workout regime had allowed her to lose enough weight to fit into the dress in time for the prestigious 2022 Met Gala.
For context—the dress was originally made to fit Monroe, so the 42-year-old had to make adjust her body to squeeze into it rather than have it altered.
Now, the 28-year-old comedian was present on this trip to Orlando in a TMZ video that surfaced in early May. He was shown lending Kim his shoulder as Chris Appleton, her hairstylist, lifted her famous butt so she could fit into the rhinestone-covered dress. He was also seen chatting up his lady love about her Met Gala dress options.
However, Kim’s ex-boyfriend wasn’t shown in the Kardashians’ recent episode—as eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice. The entire conversation was cut out, and viewers only got a sneak peek of the torso of a man in a red-and-black plaid shirt, who’s clearly the reality star’s ex-boyfriend if the video from May is any indication.
While this may seem out of the blue, it’s not. There’s no shade, y’all.
Pete hasn’t officially been seen on the episode; we’ve only ever heard from the man with the BDE—and that, too, either in the background or on the phone.
The SNL star’s absence from the show is not a coincidence. Kim did reveal in the first season of The Kardashians that Pete was the only SNL member who wouldn’t sign a waiver before filming. She also hinted that viewers would not get to see much of the Saturday Night Live actor on the episode from two weeks ago—which is “You Have No Idea How Iconic This Is”, the premier.
Discussing why the comedian didn’t make an appearance on the show, Kim said, “This is like my thing, so he’s just gonna support. When the cameras are up for him, it’s for a skit or a role. It’s not what he does.” She added, “I’m obviously gonna talk about what’s going on in my life, and he’s a part of that, but I also respect that this is like my job, and this isn’t his job.”
The actress went on to add, ‘So you might get a glimpse here and there, but it’s just… it is what it is.’
That said, Pete was Kim’s date to the Met Gala. So, fans will have to wait until next week to see if the man of the hour will be featured on the Kardashians.
Pete was seen in the previous trailer for season 2 of the reality series. However, it remains to be seen whether he’ll be honored with a more prominent appearance on the Kardashians.
Chances appear slim, as a Redditor observed that “Hulu YouTube deleted the trailer that had Pete scenes in it. I’m CONVINCED they’re gonna cut out a lot of Pete scenes. I will be so mad omg.” Us too, bestie, us too.
