Demi Lovato Channels Martha Stewart In Fun New Baking Era
Demi Lovato is embracing a new role that fans are loving – the kitchen queen. On July 15, the singer, 31, shared an Instagram Reel where they playfully posed with a pink whisk, captioning the post, “In my @marthastewart48 era 👩🏻🍳.”
Demi, who uses she/they pronouns, smiled and whipped their hair to a remix of Tinashe’s “Nasty,” adding a cheeky note over the video, “Is somebody gonna match my freak? (spend the weekend baking and in bed by 9 pm every night).”
Although 82-year-old Martha Stewart hasn’t responded to Demi’s playful homage, fans quickly expressed their delight in the comments. One admirer quipped, “Will the real Martha please stand up? 🤭”
Demi’s fiancé, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, also got in on the fun, joking, “Me during this era 🫃🫦🥵,” hinting at the cozy domestic vibe Demi has been sharing.
Demi’s passion for baking isn’t a recent development. Back in July 2023, they posted a TikTok video demonstrating how to make s’mores cookie bars, revealing their newfound joy in the kitchen. “I’ve been finding so much joy in cooking and baking lately🙃 👩🏻🍳 send me recipe ideas in the comments,” they wrote in the post’s caption.
They followed up a month later with a step-by-step brownie recipe. By December 2023, Demi was baking pet-friendly cakes with Paris Hilton for their dogs during A Very Demi Holiday Special.
This shift to sharing culinary creations aligns with Demi’s evolving relationship with social media. In a March interview with PEOPLE, Demi explained how they’ve grown beyond seeking online validation. “My relationship with social media has evolved over the years from looking to the internet for validation to not looking at internet comments at all. “If I happen to see something negative, it doesn’t affect me the way that it used to. And I don’t know if that’s just with age or how many years I’ve been in the public eye, I just don’t let it sit with me the way that it used to,” the Give A Heart A Break singer stated.
“It doesn’t hold power over me the way that it used to. And that’s really refreshing, and it’s like I don’t mind what other people have to say about me,” she continued.
