Jackie Templeton and Blackie Parrish are back together — at least off-screen!
Demi Moore and John Stamos, who once starred together on General Hospital over 40 years ago, reunited at the AARP’s Movies for Grownups Awards on February 8. John, 61, had the honor of presenting Demi, 62, with the Best Actress award for her performance in The Substance.
General Hospital’s official Instagram celebrated the moment on February 10, posting a red carpet photo of the duo with the caption, “Jackie Templeton and Blackie Parrish – together again!”
After the event, John took to Instagram to share his excitement, posting nostalgic clips and photos of the two from over the years. “We had big hair, big dreams, and enough hairspray between us to single-handedly destroy the ozone layer,” he joked.
John didn’t hold back on praising Demi’s latest performance either. “Her performance in The Substance doesn’t just push boundaries — it flips them the bird and walks away in slow motion!” he wrote, adding that the film tackles aging, body trauma, and societal pressures on women.
Pointing out “the absurd idea that a woman’s worth has an expiration date,” John added, “Spoiler alert: it doesn’t. If anything, Demi is proof that some things only get better with time—like fine wine, classic rock, and the number of abs she has.”
“Proud of you my friend. XO JS,” he concluded.
Back in the early ‘80s, Demi played investigative reporter Jackie Templeton, her first major TV role, while John portrayed rocker Albert “Blackie” Parrish, his first-ever acting gig. They both joined General Hospital in 1982 before leaving in 1984 to pursue bigger opportunities.
After her soap opera days, Demi became a Hollywood powerhouse, landing roles in St. Elmo’s Fire, Ghost, A Few Good Men, Indecent Proposal, and Striptease. John, meanwhile, found stardom as Uncle Jesse on Full House and later starred in Grandfathered and Jake in Progress.
Now, Demi is earning major recognition for The Substance, winning awards from AARP, the Golden Globes, and the Critics Choice Awards. She’s also up for an Academy Award, a BAFTA, a SAG Award, and an Independent Spirit Award.
