Demi Moore has nothing but love for Bruce Willis. The 62-year-old actress, who was recently nominated for an Academy Award for The Substance, opened up about their relationship in an interview with Variety on February 6.
Demi and Bruce were married for 13 years before divorcing in 2000, but their bond never faded. “We will always be a family, just in a different form,” she shared.
Together, they have three daughters — Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31. Bruce, now 69, also has two younger daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, with his wife, Emma Heming Willis.
Bruce stepped away from acting in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia, and a year later, doctors confirmed he has frontotemporal dementia. Demi has been by his side throughout, visiting him weekly and offering support to Emma and their daughters. “For me, there was never a question. I show up because that’s what you do for the people you love,” she said.
Demi hopes their story inspires others. “There is life after divorce. There is a way to co-parent with love,” she added, emphasizing that families can evolve in different ways.
During a December interview with CNN, Demi echoed the same message. “That has been very important to me even from when Bruce and I separated and divorced, is the recognition that we’re a family, and we’ll always be a family, just in a different form,” she said.
She also shared an update on Bruce’s health, describing him as being in a “very stable place.” His wife Emma recently posted a video of him out in public on January 16 — the first time he had been seen since his dementia diagnosis.
Demi remains an advocate for meeting loved ones where they are. “It’s so important for anybody who’s dealing with this to really meet them where they’re at. And from that place, there is such love and joy,” she said.
As Demi continues to celebrate her success in The Substance, she is also looking forward to the Critics Choice Awards, where she is nominated for Best Actress. The ceremony airs on January 7 on E!
