Denise Richards Says Ex-Husband Aaron Phypers Was Violent, Controlling And Abusive

Denise Richards has come forward with disturbing claims against her ex-husband, Aaron Phypers, in a new legal filing that paints a deeply troubling picture of their marriage. In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Denise, 54, says Aaron physically assaulted her and made terrifying threats during their relationship. She has now been granted a temporary restraining order by a California court, effective as of July 16.
The most recent alleged assault, according to Denise, happened between July 4 and July 14. In one of the most shocking claims, she says Aaron grabbed her by the hair, slammed her to the ground, and screamed, “You are not cancelling my flight! I’m going with you, and I don’t trust you.” Denise says he refused to let her travel alone.
She also claims he hit her on the head with the palm of his hand while she was using the toilet while demanding her phone. According to her, he was “screaming at me repeatedly, ‘Give me your f—ing phone!’”
And it didn’t stop there. Denise accuses Aaron of secretly going through her phone and computer while she slept. She says he even transferred her private messages to his own laptop and then woke her up in a rage, yelling at her and calling her names.
She claims the abuse wasn’t just physical and that it was emotional and psychological too. According to Denise, Aaron threatened to kill her, himself, and even the police if things escalated. In another chilling detail, she says he once told her she would “disappear” if she ever contacted law enforcement. She also alleges that Aaron owns at least eight unregistered guns.
The couple had been married since 2018, but their split became official when Aaron filed for divorce on July 7. He listed July 4 as the date they separated and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending their marriage.
