Donna Kelce Scores Touchdown In Second Hallmark Movie, Set To Appear In Two Christmas Movies
It looks like the proud mama of NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce is about to put her own special mark on holiday entertainment this year. In a fun twist that’s a nod to her fair-and-balanced approach when it comes to her sons’ teams, Donna Kelce will reportedly star in not one but two Hallmark Channel Christmas movies-one representing each side of her football family.
The first, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, will drop on November 30th as part of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas. This romantic tale happens in the middle of Kansas City as Derrick, played by Tyler Hynes, the Chiefs’ Director of Fan Engagement, falls for Alana, played by Hunter King, a die-hard supporter of the Chiefs who is picked as a “Fan of the Year” finalist.
Donna is the manager of the local BBQ restaurant Norma & Nic’s, and she proudly sports Travis’s No. 87 jersey as a touching nod to her son’s team.
In a newly released promo for the film, King and Hynes introduce themselves before bringing on Donna, who jumps into frame excitedly saying she’s in the movie. The three then promote the upcoming Countdown to Christmas event on Hallmark Channel to tee up this holiday, football-themed romance.
Donna’s upcoming holiday film releases don’t stop there. In a surprise reveal, PEOPLE has exclusively announced that she also will appear in Christmas on Call, a heartwarming story set in Philadelphia-the city where her other son Jason made his name with the Eagles. This film centers on the lives of Philadelphia’s first responders during the holiday season, stitching together themes of dedication, service, and personal relationships.
The Christmas on Call plot centers around Wes, an EMT and super Eagles fan played by Ser’Darius Blain, who becomes a tour guide of sorts for Hannah, played by Sara Canning, the new ER doctor in town. In one quintessential Philadelphia scene, Donna makes her cameo at a popular cheesesteak spot. Wearing an Eagles jersey, she plays the part of the local who schools Hannah in the proper way to order a cheesesteak: “Whiz wit,” of course.
But adding even more to the Kelce family’s relationship with this teleplay is that Christmas on Call will introduce a new single from The Philly Specials – a musical ensemble made up of Eagles players Jordan Mailata, Lane Johnson, and the newly retired Jason Kelce. Their song, titled Santa Drives an Astrovan, is part of their new album, A Philly Special Christmas Party. Quite the warm and fuzzy gesture, the proceeds from the album go to the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Both will air for the first time during Hallmark Channel’s 15th annual Countdown to Christmas, as Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story has just been slotted in for November 30th, while Christmas on Call is still awaiting an announced airdate. These Christmas productions will show not just the appeal of Donna Kelce and the legacies of her sons in football but also spread Christmas joy across two cities steeped in NFL culture.
