Duchess Meghan Makes a Comeback and Signs With a Major Talent Agency
The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is rearing to make a comeback and has signed with a major talent agency — WME or William Morris Endeavor. Meghan’s friend Serena Williams, Keanu Reeves, Oprah Winfrey, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are among the agency’s litany of celebrities and talents.
Three years after she and her husband, Prince Harry, stepped back as senior royals of “The Firm,” the mother of two seems to be diving head first as she makes her way back to the entertainment industry. According to Variety, although WME is a talent agency, Meghan will focus on something other than getting back to acting. She will also work with Ari Emanuel, Endeavor’s CEO, and agents Jill Smoller and Brad Slater.
WME will represent Archewell, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s foundation, specifically in their content creation division. They will also be working with Meghan on her brand partnerships, film and television productions, and overall establishing her business.
During Meghan’s 2022 cover shoot with Variety, she was clear that returning to acting is not one of her options. “I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not,” she’d said.
What interests the Duchess is their foundation and being involved in the productions and stories that the company takes on. During her shoot, Meghan mentioned, “So much of how my husband and I see things is through our love story. I think that’s what people worldwide are connected to, especially with our wedding. People love love. I’m not excluded in that sentiment.”
Since the creation of Archewell, it has already produced two docuseries, one of which is the couple’s story — Netflix’s Harry and Meghan. Until now, the couple is still engaged in a Netflix deal.
The news of Meghan signing with the talent agency comes just a few days after she and her husband were seen enjoying a basketball game where the LA Lakers were playing against the Sacramento Kings. The trip to the basketball game was a first for the couple, who had mellowed down their public appearances for almost a month.
Although they were not seen publicly, the two made news headlines again after finally revealing their response to King Charles III’s coronation. It was reported that the couple made planning difficult for the UK team because it was past the deadline, and they still had not responded whether they would be attending the historic event.
A few weeks ago, Prince Harry finally confirmed that he would make a quick trip back to the UK to attend his father’s coronation, but his wife will be staying behind with their children, Archie and Lilibet. The King’s coronation is scheduled for May 6, the same date as Archie’s fourth birthday.
Plenty of royal fans were pleased with this approach, but many others continued speculating that Meghan will be staying behind because of the possible cold and cautious reception that she would receive from the other members of the Royal Family. It is also said that family members will be careful with the conversations they’d have with Prince Harry, fearing that any talks will soon be part of a memoir or tell-all interview.
Apart from her acting roles, Meghan is also a global icon and has been featured on The Financial Times’ 25 Most Influential Women as well as TIME Magazine’s Most Influential People.
