Eminem Stays Loyal To Detroit Lions Despite Tough NFC Championship Loss
In a thrilling NFC Championship game that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the Detroit Lions, led by quarterback Jared Goff, faced off against the San Francisco 49ers. The game went down to the wire, but unfortunately, the Lions fell short, losing 34-31. Despite the heartbreaking loss, one loyal Lions fan, Eminem, showed unwavering support for his team.
Eminem, the famous rapper, who is known for his love for Detroit, remained hopeful even after the tough defeat. On social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), the 51-year-old artist shared his thoughts. “Guess I should stop recording this diss track..!! Lol!!,” Eminem wrote, referring to a rumored diss track aimed at coach Ben Johnson.
Ben had reportedly turned down offers for head coaching positions in Seattle and Washington. Eminem added, “@ Ben Johnson Thank you for staying!!! We can’t break this team up ESPECIALLY since I’M on it!!! Coach Campbell we love you bro!!! Let’s run it back next year!!…I’m READY!!!! I promise you I WILL get us to the super bowl!!!”
After the game, Eminem continued to express his pride in the Lions, writing, “So proud of the @lions. Thanks 4 an amazing season!!!! We’ll b back!!!” It was indeed an incredible season for the Lions, their first successful one in decades, making it to the NFC Championship game for the first time since January 1992.
The game itself was a rollercoaster of emotions. Initially, it appeared that the Lions had secured the win, but the 49ers staged an impressive comeback in the second half, scoring 27 unanswered points and ultimately securing victory with a score of 34-31. San Francisco is now set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on February 11 in Las Vegas.
Eminem’s passion for the Lions extended to his family as well. His daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, took to TikTok to share her excitement for the upcoming season. She demonstrated her creative side by making a “D.I.Y.” Lions jacket, explaining how she cut up a flag and skillfully sewed each piece onto the jacket.
Before the NFC Championship game, Eminem had humorously called out Lions head coach Dan Campbell, expressing his eagerness to be part of the action. In a video posted on Instagram, he playfully declared, “Yo, Dan, I’m reporting. I’m going to report. Third quarter,” suggesting he could join the game as an eligible receiver. Eminem even offered to be the quarterback, offensive line, and receiver all in one, vowing to score a touchdown and secure a win for the team. While it may have been in jest, his dedication to the Lions and his sense of humor shone through.
