Emma Reveals Her Mom Was “So Helpful” With Son Rhodes
Emma Roberts recently opened up about the special bond her son Rhodes shares with her mother, Kelly Cunningham.
During an appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna, the actress known for her roles in American Horror Story, revealed that her 3-year-old son, whom she shares with ex Garrett Hedlund, has a unique relationship with her mom.
Reflecting on motherhood, Emma humorously mentioned the parallel between her real-life journey and her role as a mom in the show Madame Webb. She joked about the constant pregnancy vibes due to her acting gigs but expressed joy in being a mother to Rhodes.
Responding to a question about how motherhood was for her, she said, “It was crazy. Well, first of all, I should have three children now because I’ve had to wear a fake pregnancy belly for this show, for Madame Webb… so I feel like it’s been non-stop pregnancy, and I have one child. But no, he came to visit me on set — on the appropriate days — and it’s amazing being a mom. And he’s 3 now.”
When asked about her relationship with her own mother, Emma admitted that becoming a mom herself has deepened their bond. She expressed gratitude for her mother’s support, especially during demanding work schedules like those on American Horror Story.
“My mom is so helpful. To be on a show like this, American Horror Story, it’s very demanding. It’s like 12-hour days, five days a week, and my mom helps me with my son and they have the most beautiful relationship and I’m so grateful. She’s probably watching. Hi Mommy!” she said.
Emma shared glimpses of Rhodes’s third birthday celebration on Instagram, including a heartwarming black and white photo of her and Rhodes. In her caption, she poured out her love for her son, marking the occasion with heartfelt words.
Additionally, she posted snapshots on her Instagram Stories, giving fans a peek into their special moments together, reaffirming the love and joy Rhodes brings into her life.
