Film Crew “Left Uncomfortable” By Dwayne Johnson’s Unprofessional Behavior
A report suggests that Dwayne Johnson isn’t all that. The 51-year-old actor, known by his World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) name The Rock, has a host of crowd-pulling blockbusters like Fast & Furious and Moana. But it looks like being a moneymaker isn’t going to cut it. His professional reputation has recently been dragged through the mud in an exclusive damning piece published by The Wrap.
According to the explosive expose, the wrestler-turned-actor uses empty water bottles to relieve himself. “On set, away from his trailer, if he needs to pee, he doesn’t go to the public bathroom, he pees in a Voss water bottle,” an insider told the news outlet.
The source went on to say that the star’s “team or a PA has to dispose of it.”
The Jumanji actor’s alleged unprofessionalism caused awkwardness for the crew. But this personal practice, which many say also happened on other film sets, isn’t new. Back in 2017, the star admitted to it in an Instagram video and went as far as to “inadvertently” show a full bottle of pee.
“I go hardcore when I train,” the actor said. He added, “I don’t have time to go the bathroom. I find a bottle and I pee in it, and I keep training like a beast.”
He doubled down on the revelation by writing in the caption, “And yeah, if I have to pee while working out I’ll do it in a bottle. I’m that kinda guy. Just get the job done.”
But does he get the job done?
The report also suggests that Johnson is not “the hardest worker in the room.” His upcoming Christmas-action movie, Red One, was slated for a Prime Video release in 2023. It was said at the time that its debut was pushed back due to last year’s SAG strikes. However, insiders are now saying that a huge reason for the postponement was Johnson’s tardiness. He reportedly showed up on set “as much as eight hours late” and also missed “several entire days of production.”
His poor work ethic allegedly forced the crew to work around him, with reports suggesting that his “chronic lateness” ballooned costs by at least $50 million.
Yikes.
“It was a f**king disaster,” one said.
“Dwayne truly doesn’t give a f**k,” another slammed.
But here’s the thing: A spokesperson for Amazon MGM is calling it bull.
“Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks have been incredible partners on Red One—a film that audiences of all ages are going to love this holiday season.”
“Our testing has been very strong—the reaction from CinemaCon speaks for itself—and we couldn’t have made it without Dwayne’s constant work and support,” they told the outlet.
“Any reporting that implies that we got to this point with him showing up seven-eight hours late to set is both ridiculous and false,” the spokesperson concluded.
Another source close to his production company, Seven Bucks, backed this and insisted that the production didn’t veer from the allotted budget of $250 million.
Red One, which also stars Chris Evans and JK Simmons, is expected to hit theaters on November 15, 2024.
