Gisele Bundchen Opens Up About Ex Tom Brady, Knocks Down Rumor That She Forced Him To Choose Between Her And NFL
In what would be a rare reveal, Gisele Bundchen has spoken about her divorce from her ex-husband Tom Brady. In an interview with Vanity Fair for the magazine’s April issue, the supermodel revealed that the divorce was the “death of her dream.”
She also took the pain of addressing the speculation and rumors surrounding her separation from Tom. Rumor had it that she asked her husband, who was a football pro, to choose between her and his career. According to her, the alleged ultimatum was not the reason her marriage hit the rocks, as she stated that she has always “wanted all his dreams to come true.”
“Listen, I have always cheered for him, and I would continue forever. If there’s one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it’s him, believe me. I want him to achieve and to conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That’s what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart,” she said.
Gisele further shut down speculations that she is against football. Clarifying the misconception, she stated that she enjoyed watching her ex-husband play on the field.
According to the 42-year-old, her 13-year-old marriage to Tom failed as a result of more simple events as she stated that they “grew apart” from each other and developed different interests.
“‘Sometimes you grow together; sometimes you grow apart.’ When I was 26 years old and he was 29 years old, we met, we wanted a family, we wanted things together,” she said.
“As time goes by, we realize that we just wanted different things, and now we have a choice to make. That doesn’t mean you don’t love the person. It just means that in order for you to be authentic and truly live the life that you want to live, you have to have somebody who can meet you in the middle, right? It’s a dance. It’s a balance,” she added.
Gisele and Tom officially got divorced in October of last year. In a public announcement shared on social media, Tom revealed that they had finalized their divorce after an amicable agreement to share custody of their two children, Vivian and Benjamin.
“In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage. We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together,” he wrote.
Prior to the announcement, speculations were already going around alleging that there was some tension between the couple due to Tom’s decision to cancel his retirement plans and play another season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
