Janet Jackson Breaks Her Personal Record With Her Together Again Tour
One more date and Janet Jackson will finally complete her 38-date Together Again Tour, and as early as now, the five-time Grammy winner is ecstatic because she broke her record and has currently logged in $51 million in earnings.
Yes, her four-decades-long career has achieved a new feat after selling 479,000 tickets since April and then amassing the fortune she never achieved with her previous touring performances. And what’s essential is that Janet is having fun, sharing that her latest tour is the most enjoyable of the ones she has done so far.
The Together Again tour is the 57-year-old’s 10th concert tour, named after her most successful and profitable song in 1997. The R&B diva’s ongoing tour is more successful than Janet’s 2001 to 2002 All For You Tour, which had 73 dates. And the songstress admitted that part of the success she achieved with Together Again was due to her two-night stint at the Manhattan Madison Square Garden that added $3.8 million to her gross income.
It was reported that, surprisingly, the tickets for the Together Again are cheaper, with enthusiasts paying an average of $106.13 for one ticket—seven percent more affordable than the Number Ones, Up Close, and Personal World Tour in 2011, which had 81 dates.
The tour is overseen by Gil Duldulao, the creative director, who included two choreographers, five musicians, and four male-up back dancers on the team.
June 21, Janet, who has established a name for her extravagant stage shows, and all-out performances, shared with her 21.6 million followers and supporters, “I know I’ve said this, but I’ll say it again: This is the most fun I’ve had on any tour since my first [Rhythm Nation World Tour 1990.].”
She also took the time to give kudos to her crew for being one of the significant reasons why Together Again is gaining so much success. The Indiana native wrote, “Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication. I am incredibly grateful.”
The All Together Again setlist includes 34 of Janet’s songs, including one still unreleased song called Keep Dancing. This track is pegged to be included on her 12th studio album, Black Diamond, whose release has been delayed and postponed several times.
The American singer-songwriter reacted when fans asked her when Black Diamond would be released and even begged her for the album to be made available.
The Oscar-nominated songwriter answered this fan request last year through Essence by saying, “Sometimes things happen that you don’t expect to happen, and you have to figure things out – or you’re in a space in your life when you have to take a step back and take a break for a minute. Even though it’s something I absolutely love, it is still my work, my job.”
The hitmaker further said, “There will be music at some point. Exactly when? I can’t say just yet, but there will be. I love it too much not to do it. This is all I know. There’s so much that I want to do – but my number one job is being a mama.”
And in this, Janet was referring to being a mother to her 6-year-old son Eissa with Wissam Al Mana, a Qatari billionaire she was married to for five years.
