Jeff Bezos And Lauren Sanchez Are Engaged
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are engaged, as confirmed by CNN. However, no details about the proposal or wedding have been disclosed yet.
The pair had reportedly been dating since 2018 but went public in 2019 after Bezos’s divorce from his first wife, MacKenzie Scott, was finalized.
The news comes after Lauren was spotted wearing a 20-carat diamond ring on her finger. Bezos, 59, and Sanchez, 53, were photographed enjoying a cheeky outing and attending the premier of the movie “Killers of the Flower Moon” at the Cannes Film Festival. The couple made a grand entrance in France in Bezos’ $500 million mega yacht, Koru.
Koru is a symbol of new beginnings, as Bezos stated on his Instagram. So, Koru is all about a new phase of life, positive change, personal growth, and hope for the future. The yacht has been designed according to Lauren’s preference. It has a wooden sculpture, and the prow has a necklace design featuring the symbol of Koru.
Ever since they started dating, they have kept the details of their private lives away from the public. And apart from being interviewed and photographed at various events, the couple does not share much.
Lauren, however, discussed blending their families during an interview with the Wall Street Journal four months ago.
She said, “On a typical Saturday, we hang out, we have dinner with the kids, which is always fun because you never know where the conversation is going to go with this many kids. We are the Brady Bunch!”
Jeff has three sons and an adopted daughter with his ex-wife, while the former broadcast journalist, now philanthropist, has a son and a daughter with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell and a son with ex Tony Gonzalez.
Lauren also briefly talked about her relationship with Bezos in the interview. She talked about how being together with her now-fiancé makes her heart grow fonder. While talking about working close to him, she said that it was the greatest experience she ever had.
She said, “I’ve always had a career very separate from my partner. We love to be together and we love to work together. He’s helping me with the book. He’s getting his pilot’s license. We fly together. We work out together. We’re together all the time.”
Earlier, the couple gave their first joint interview to CNN at their Washington, DC, home in 2022. The couple talked about the philanthropic work they do together and their aim to give away Bezos’s vast wealth to a variety of causes.
Sanchez talked about how they were great teammates but also boring. Bezos had kind words about the Emmy-winning journalist. He described her as “the most generous, most big-hearted person that you would ever meet,” and called her “an inspiration.”
He gushed about her being generous. Generous with someone she just meets, generous with every person, and generous at large too.
