Jeremy Renner Says He’s Nervous Upon Return To Set After Snow Plow Accident
In an inspiring comeback story, Jeremy Renner is back on the set of Mayor of Kingstown after a harrowing snow plow accident on New Year’s Day in 2023. The 52-year-old actor took to Instagram to share his feelings about resuming work on the drama series. According to him, he feels a bit nervous to be back on set.
Jeremy’s Instagram post featured a picture of him looking sharp in a cold-weather coat, a striped button-down shirt, and a stylish grey-and-black tie. He captioned the photo with, “Day one on set … nervous today. Hope this works out that I can ACTUALLY pull this off for our production and more importantly the fans.”
Simultaneously, Paramount+ announced the official start of production for the upcoming third season of Mayor of Kingstown. The series revolves around the McLusky family, influential figures in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration dominates the landscape.
Jeremy’s return comes just a week after his appearance on the Ellen K Morning Show on KOST 103.5 FM, where he shared a lighthearted anecdote about his mother’s reaction to the snow plow incident. He joked about her desire to “burn this Snowcat” but emphasized the importance of shifting the narrative and perspective surrounding the accident.
In his words, “It’s our job to change the narrative and perspective on this because otherwise we can sit and be victims and suffer and be insufferable and have January 1st be not a day to celebrate or that the snowcat’s a bad thing, but no we need all these things, they’re beautiful things.”
Reflecting on the accident, the actor expressed remorse for the fear he caused his family, saying, “The first thing I said was I was sorry when I woke up because I knew what transpired and damn I know what that might feel like on the other side too, that’s pretty harrowing to make someone feel that terror.”
Following the accident, Jeremy underwent multiple surgeries and embarked on a challenging journey of recovery. He acknowledged the support of his family and the profound impact on his nephew, who was present during the incident.
He also discussed his new EP, Love and Titanium, set to release on January 19. He described the process of recording the tracks as healing and expressed hope that the album would have a positive impact on others.
