Jeremy Renner Undergoes “Electric Stimulation” Therapy Seven Weeks After Fatal Snow Plough Accident
On Saturday, February 18, Jeremy Renner, 52, shared an update about his “electric stimulation” recovery process after a snow plow accident. The actor shared the video on his Instagram story, as he accompanied it with the song Lady Madonna by The Beatles.
The video shows a series of vibrating equipment attached to the leg of the Mission Impossible actor to help him with the recovery process. The actor referred to this recovery style as an “electric stimulation workout,” which helps the “muscle strength.”
A malfunctioning snow plow fatally injured The Avengers star on New Year’s day while he tried to move his nephew’s stuck car from his driveway near Reno, Nevada. However, the plow that weighed six-tonne started sliding down the hill. Renner jumped out but was “completely crushed” by the vehicle when he returned to redirect it from potentially hitting his nephew.
According to local Washoe County Sheriff’s Department reports, the Hawkeye actor sustained injuries in his “torso, face, extremities and head.” The authorities added that the snow plow may have had mechanical issues.
Three days after the brutal accident, the Hollywood star returned on Instagram to thank his fans for their “kind words,” adding, “I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”
After two weeks of breaking several bones and undergoing intensive care, he returned with a more hopeful update telling his fan.
“Resolutions all changed this particular new years…Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love,” he wrote.
The star went ahead to “thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I…Much love and appreciation to you all.”
Sharing the post, he revealed that his injury includes “30 plus broken bones,” which he remains optimistic “will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens.” He ended the post by sending “love and blessings” to all.
Speaking to RadarOnline, a source told the publication earlier in January that the injury is “much worse than anyone knows.”
“Jeremy is very aware of the fact that he almost died out there,” the source stated, narrating how the snow plow accident left the actor’s right side chest crushed.
“He also had a bad head wound that was bleeding and a leg injury,” they added.
Even though the injury could take years to heal, Evangeline Lilly, Jeremy’s co-star in The Hurt Locker, told Access that the actor has been healing in good faith, “wheeling himself around, laughing with friends.”
