Jeremy Renner Visits The Fantastic Hospital Staff That Saved His Life
Three months have passed since the unfortunate accident that caused Avengers actor Jeremy Renner to suffer from 30 broken bones. Since then, it has been a painful and rigorous journey toward recovery for the Hawkeye actor.
And last Saturday, Jeremy made it a point to return to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, to visit the medical staff that helped save his life after being crushed by the 14,000-pound snow plow last New Year’s Day.
The 52-year-old actor went to the hospital near his Lake Tahoe home and shared the heartwarming visit on his Instagram account. On his Instagram stories, he captioned the snaps with, “I got to revisit the amazing group of people who saved my life.”
As Jeremy is still in the process of recovering, he was seen carrying a cane and being supported by it as he posed and talked with the medical workers in one of the hospital’s visiting areas.
Just a few days ago, the actor shared about the weeks that he spent in the hospital’s ICU and compared it to being in a haunted house because of the eerie silence, the sounds that the other patients were making, plus him having to take several medications to manage his pain.
He also mentioned to Jimmy Kimmel that he would go back and apologize to the nurses who had the unfortunate task of dealing with him during the early days of the actor’s recovery.
Jeremy also posted another photo, but this time with a surgeon standing beside him, and captioned the image with a simple “Thank you” followed by the prayer hand emoji.
It was all about comfort for the actor’s day out, as he donned a black puffer jacket, gray sweatpants, and sneakers. He also took a picture with four staff members outside the medical center’s signage.
Recall that Jeremy’s chest was crushed during the accident, while his upper torso collapsed. The real-life hero was trying to get his nephew’s car out of the snow when the devastating accident happened. It was a good thing his neighbor, a doctor, was home and provided assistance.
During the 911 call, Jeremy was visibly in agony. He was then airlifted to the Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, where his condition was critical but stable.
Since then, Jeremy has been sharing updates about his recovery through his social media accounts. There was even a time when it was uncertain if the actor could still go back to acting because his profession was not his main priority at the moment.
Fast forward to today, and Jeremy’s road to rehabilitation appears to be going well, albeit not easy and far from being finished. A few days ago, he was able to attend the premiere of his new docuseries, Rennervations, together with his daughter, Ava.
The actor claimed that attending the event was his first time out of bed and not in therapy, and similar to his hospital visit, he was also using a cane and even a scooter to help him move around.
