Jimmie Allen Opens Up About Twins’ Birth, Says Longtime ‘Friend’ Conceived Them While He Was Separated From Wife
Country star Jimmie Allen has recently opened up about the whirlwind circumstances surrounding the birth of his twins last summer, shedding light on his personal life and journey with estranged wife Lexi.
In an exclusive interview with Kathie Lee Gifford released on his YouTube channel on Tuesday, April 23, Jimmie delved into the timeline of events leading up to the arrival of his fraternal twins, daughter Aria and son Amari, and the subsequent reconciliation with Lexi.
The singer revealed that the twins were born to a different mother, his longtime friend Danielle, during a period when he and Lexi were not together.
“[The twins have a] different mother — my friend Danielle. I’ve known Danielle for years. Way before I became ‘Jimmie Allen.’ And at the time that she got pregnant with the twins, I wasn’t with Lexi, and [Danielle] wasn’t with her husband,” he stated.
Reflecting on life’s unexpected twists, Jimmie shared, “But it’s interesting just watching how life happens whether you plan it or whether you’re ready for it or not. So Danielle was pregnant first, because me and Lexi weren’t together when Danielle got pregnant. Twins were born first. Then me and Lexi decided we wanted to try to work on [our relationship].”
Dispelling misconceptions that arose after the twins’ birth, Jimmie clarified, “I decided to post my twins on my Instagram, and it went everywhere. These articles come out, ‘Jimmie Allen Gets Married Superfan Pregnant.’ That couldn’t be farther from the truth. She’s not a superfan. She’s a friend. And she wasn’t with her husband and I wasn’t with my wife.”
Addressing his marital journey, Jimmie candidly discussed the pressures he faced to maintain his marriage, despite knowing deep down that it was over. “If I know that I don’t want to be in a relationship and I don’t want to be married and I know that she’s not the person for me, and I’m not the person for her, why would I do that again to her? Why would I do that again to myself? It’s gotta be right,” he emphasized.
Furthermore, Jimmie admitted that he felt unprepared for marriage when he initially tied the knot with Lexi in 2020 and again in 2021, succumbing to societal expectations. “When I got married, I knew I wasn’t ready to be a husband. But I was at this point in my life where it felt like I should do that because I heard constantly, ‘You should be married, you should be this,’” he confessed.
Despite their divorce filing in April 2023, Jimmie and Lexi reconciled shortly after. Months later, they welcomed the twins in the summer, followed by the birth of their third child, son Cohen, in September. The former couple also share two daughters, Naomi, 4, and Zara, 2, while Jimmie is a father to son Aadyn, 9, from a previous relationship.
