Joe Jonas Seen Without Wedding Ring Amid Divorce With Sophie Tuner
Over the last several weeks, Joe Jonas from the former singing group Jonas Brothers has been going out without his wedding ring. This supports recent news that the American singer-songwriter is divorcing his wife, actress Sophie Turner.
According to People, the 34-year-old singer has sought the assistance of a top divorce lawyer. TMZ also reported the same news and that Joe has been preparing the necessary documents.
Last August, Joe was already spotted with a bare ring finger while attending to errands in Manhattan’s West Village.
In 2019, Joe and Sophie were married in two ceremonies. The first was a Las Vegas impromptu wedding the night after they attended the Billboard Music Awards. The second ceremony took place a few months after in France after which they enjoyed two honeymoons.
For the last six months, it appeared that Joe and the 27-year-old actress from Game of Thrones were encountering serious problems. One source even revealed that Joe had been predominantly left to handle parental duties. The same source shared that Joe has been taking care of their two daughters, 3-year-old Willa and their one-year-old daughter whose name has not been shared with the public.
Meanwhile, Sophie has been spending time in the UK where she is from, filming an ITVX drama about Joan Hannington, a notorious British jewel thief. This meant Joe clocked in more solo parenting hours even as he toured with his brothers Kevin and Nick.
As of writing, we’ve confirmed that the two children are still with Joe.
Joe and Sophie have been known to share minimal details about their relationship, especially when it comes to their family life. During her pregnancy with Willa, Sophie didn’t share any photos until she had given birth. Details about their second daughter were even less, with the little one’s name still unknown.
Bits and pieces about what’s leading to a possible divorce are also scarce, but it was noticeable that the couple hasn’t been spotted together in public recently. The last time they were photographed together was last April when they arrived at an afterparty where Joe was the DJ.
Joe and Sophie were also spotted earlier this year attending public events, but again, it was a lot less often compared to the previous years. According to Page Six, Sophie was seen attending one of the Jonas Brother’s concerts in Yankee Stadium. She was with her sisters-in-law, Priyanka Chopra, Nick’s wife, and Danielle, Kevin’s wife. However, that night, she was not photographed with her husband.
What’s confusing fans is that last August 21, Joe was seen wearing his ring again during their band’s performance in Detroit, Michigan. Being spotted with his ring on and off on different occasions has left fans mystified and second-guessing the Hollywood couple’s next move.
During Joe’s concert on September 9 in Los Angeles, he alluded to his rocky relationship in front of fans, saying, “It’s been a tough week. I just wanna say, look, if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it. Okay? Thank you, everyone, for your love and support. Me and my family love you guys.”
As of writing, Sophie has not commented about their marriage or divorce.
