John Wick: Chapter 4 Is The Highest-Rated Installment And Is Hailed As One Of The Best Action Movies Of All Time
Keanu Reeves’ John Wick: Chapter 4 slayed and beat its three predecessors in terms of revenue as it has officially become the best-reviewed action film in its entire blockbuster franchise.
On Rotten Tomatoes, it has received almost 90 reviews and has so far scored an impressive 93%. Ed Travis, who also critiqued the movie for Cinapse, described the movie as “simply one of the greatest action films of this generation, and perhaps of all time.”
The fourth installment of the action movie is scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide on March 24. Still, a few days before its premiere, it has already caught the public’s attention, with many raving about Keanu’s stellar performance and the movie’s adrenaline-pumping action segments.
One particular highlight that makes John Wick: Chapter 4 more interesting is the performance of martial arts legend Donnie Yen. A three-hour running time makes it the longest film in the series, but viewers can be sure that the energy level remains consistent throughout the entire picture.
The anticipation for the movie has reached an extraordinary fever pitch in the past few weeks, with early reviews trending on various social media platforms.
Vanessa Armstong from SlashFilm tweeted, “#JohnWick4 is the best movie I’ve seen in ages! ‘It’s like a Greek epic that’s, yes, full of unparalleled action (and guns), and the set pieces are phenomenal. But it’s also about relationships and love.”
Meanwhile, Brandon Davis from ComicBook.com shared his thoughts about how John Wick 4 rocks from start to finish. He hailed Keanu Reeves for his new and impressive ways to get that much-needed action coming.
The Wrap’s Scott Mendelson tweeted, “#JohnWick4 is, at least from a technical pov, one of the greatest Hollywood action movies ever made. It’s visually gorgeous w/ stunningly complicated & creative set pieces. I honestly don’t know how they safely did some of these scenes. It’s a towering artistic achievement.”
With the inevitable success of the fourth chapter, people will certainly want more. Unfortunately, the future of the franchise still faces uncertainty after movie director Chad Stahelski revealed that, for the moment, he and Keanu are done.
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Chad mentioned that he and Keanu talked about letting the franchise rest, given that they’ve already released four films in nine years.
The director revealed that he and Keanu would be in Tokyo for the movie’s press tour, and then once it ends, they’ll contemplate the future of John Wick. He jokingly added, “We’ll have a couple of 20-year-old whiskies and write some ideas on napkins. If those ideas stick, maybe we’ll make a movie.”
All the previous John Wick installments were hits on their own, and with all the attention that the fourth chapter is getting, it will surely make the John Wick franchise stronger, building a more extensive fan base.
