Josh Hall Denies Asking Christina Haack For $65,000 In Monthly Spousal Support Amid Divorce Drama
Josh Hall is hitting back at claims that he requested a whopping $65,000 per month in spousal support from his estranged wife, Christina Haack. The Christina on the Coast star, who recently reverted to her maiden name Haack, made the claim in recent court documents, calling it “outrageous” given their two-year, nine-month marriage.
In her filing, Christina alleged that Josh “just paid over $70,000 to pay off the lease” on a Bentley, emphasizing that he “has no need for spousal support” since he is self-sufficient. However, Josh took to Instagram on October 16, to set the record straight.
In his Instagram Stories, Josh blasted the claims, describing them as “riddled with lies and assumptions.” He specifically called out Christina’s attorney, Matthew S. DeArmey, questioning the lawyer’s integrity and accusing him of making “provably false statements” in court.
A representative for Josh echoed his sentiments in a statement to PEOPLE, firmly denying that he ever requested the large sum in spousal support. “For one, Josh never requested $65,000 in support. That’s false,” the representative clarified. However, it was noted that Josh did request some form of spousal support in his initial divorce filing on July 15, though without specifying an amount.
This latest conflict between the former couple isn’t just about money — it’s also tied to a property dispute. Christina and Josh have been battling over her farmhouse in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, which has been a major point of tension since their split. The farmhouse, situated on 23 acres, was featured on her HGTV show Christina in the Country and rented out as a vacation property when not in use.
According to Christina, the home was listed for sale on October 5 for $4.5 million, something she says is routine for her work as a real estate investor and reality star. Josh, on the other hand, filed an ex parte motion to prevent the sale, arguing that the house was never meant to be an investment property but rather a second home for the couple.
In response, Christina defended the listing, stating that selling homes is part of her job and that the farmhouse was always used as a rental property. She further explained that the decision to sell had nothing to do with their split and everything to do with her real estate business.
Despite their public breakup, Josh will still appear in the upcoming second season of Christina in the Country, which premieres on November 12. The show follows Christina as she expands her design business in the Nashville area while spending time with her three children — Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, whom she shares with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and Hudson, 5, whom she shares with ex-husband Ant Anstead.
The divorce drama between Christina and Josh continues to unfold, but both seem determined to move on. As Christina recently shared in an Instagram post, she’s focused on “making her own money” and keeping her independence. For Josh, who was a real estate professional in Austin, Texas, before marrying Christina, the focus seems to be on clearing up what he believes are false accusations.
Christina and Josh began dating in March 2021 and were married by October 2021 in a private courthouse ceremony, later celebrating with a more public wedding in Maui in November 2022. Josh filed for divorce in July, citing irreconcilable differences.
