Joy-Anna Duggar Welcomes Third Baby With Austin Forsyth
Joy-Anna Duggar, the ninth child of Jim-Bob and Michelle Duggar, welcomed her third child — a baby boy — with her husband on Wednesday, May 17.
The couple also have a son Gideon, 5, and daughter Evelyn, 2. On May 19, the 25-year-old “Counting On” alum posted a picture of herself and her husband Austin cuddling their newborn and captioned it with, “He’s here! (blue heart emoji) Thank you all for praying… Mama and baby are recovering well.”
The baby is photographed in a hospital blanket and wearing a cap and is revealed to have the name Gunner James Forsyth.
The couple also shared a Youtube video announcing the arrival of their third child. The video features the audio of the baby’s first cries and the third time parents preparing the kids for the arrival of a baby brother.
On Sunday, Joy posted another message gushing over her new bundle of happiness. She wrote, “Soaking up every moment. He is the sweetest lil man.”
In September, the couple discovered that they were expecting a child while they were in Alaska vacationing. They shared the news of their pregnancy in October through their social media handle. They shared a sweet picture of themselves holding a sonogram and captioned it with, “Baby #3 is on the way!”
They also posted a Youtube video titled by the same name. In the 13-minute video, Joy shares that she thinks she might be pregnant and if she is, that would be wonderful. The couple shared that they were in a good spot and were ready to expand their family. They even shared that it would be amazing if they were pregnant with twins.
The video then shows her undergoing the test and finding out that she is indeed pregnant with their third child, which is when she bursts out crying. Later in the video, the couple shared that they were “ECSTATIC” and cannot wait to hold their baby in their arms in May 2023. They also requested prayers from their fans and loved ones for the next seven and a half months.
The couple had a gender reveal party in November 2022. The soon-to-be mom shared that she was shocked after finding out that it was a boy. In the Youtube video, Joy says, “I am completely shocked, I 100 percent thought that it was a girl, convinced myself it was a girl … and I was waiting for two of those balloons to be pink and they weren’t. That’s crazy!”
The couple got married in May 2017, just six months after courting. And their first child, Gideon, arrived nine months after their marriage in February 2018.
The birth of Joy’s third child happened just a day after the trailer of the Amazon documentary titled “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets” was released. The documentary is set to unmask the dark secrets of the Duggar family and reflect on the religious teachings they follow.
It features Joy’s sister Jill Duggar Dillard, Jill’s husband Derick Dillard, and her cousin Amy. The trailer shows them being interviewed about the ultra-conservative ministry’s cult-like practices.
