Judge Rules In Favor Of Rachel Lindsay’s Ex Bryan Abasolo, Says She Must Pay $13.000 Spousal Support Monthly
Bryan Abasolo has scored a significant win in his ongoing divorce battle with Rachel Lindsay. On July 10, the former couple faced off in a virtual court session. After much debate over Bryan’s request for spousal support, the judge sided with the chiropractor.
Court documents reveal that Rachel, 39, must pay Bryan, 44, a hefty $13,257 per month in temporary spousal support starting July 15. Additionally, she’s been ordered to cover $20,000 of Bryan’s legal fees by September 3.
Their journey to this point has been tumultuous. Bryan filed for divorce on January 2, ending their four-year marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The split became public in a rather shocking manner. Rachel claims Bryan informed her of the filing via text, minutes after a conversation in their kitchen where he failed to mention it.
She expressed her shock, saying, “Approximately 30 minutes after he left the house, he sent me a text message that simply read ‘Hey … I just wanted to let you know that I officially filed.’”
Bryan, however, disputes Rachel’s version of events, providing text messages suggesting she was neither surprised nor shocked by his filing.
Money has been a hot-button issue for the couple, who got engaged during season 21 of The Bachelorette and tied the knot in 2019. Bryan requested spousal support in May, claiming his annual income is a mere $16,000 and asking for $75,000 in legal fees from Rachel. He insisted he needed $16,275 per month to maintain his lifestyle.
Rachel fired back, accusing Bryan of misrepresenting his financial situation. She argued that his reported income is “less than he would earn working at McDonald’s” and that he has the ability and opportunity to support himself. She also revealed that she has been covering nearly all of Bryan’s expenses, including those related to her house, which he refuses to leave, since their separation on December 31, 2023.
Despite these contentions, the judge ruled in Bryan’s favor, although he will receive slightly less than the full amount he requested. The couple is scheduled for a mandatory settlement conference in September, where more decisions about their future will be made.
