Julie Benko Announces Exciting News: A Broadway Baby On The Way!
Julie Benko has some delightful news to share. On Monday, July 8, the star of Funny Girl and Harmony, announced on Instagram that she and her husband, Jason Yeager, are expecting their first baby together. The 35-year-old Broadway star posted a charming video of herself performing as the pregnant bride in Funny Girl’s His Love Makes Me Beautiful.
The video ended with the heartwarming message, “Baby Benko-Yeager coming this fall.”
“A Broadway baby… for real this time! 🙈🤯 Plot twist: @danielbeeman is actually the father and baby will come out singing perfect high A’s,” Julie joked in the caption.

This joyful announcement marks the first child for Julie and Jason, who tied the knot in June 2021. The couple, a perfect blend of Broadway and musical composition talent, is thrilled to embark on this new chapter of their lives.
Reflecting on her Broadway journey, Julie spoke to PEOPLE at the end of 2023 about her time in Funny Girl, which closed in September of that year. She shared how close she remained with many of her fellow cast members, such as Lea Michele, who she understudied in the role of Fanny Brice.
“I’m in touch with a lot of people. The understudies at Funny Girl, we really bonded, and we are on a text thread that doesn’t stop. We’re with each other forever and go to all of each other’s shows, and a lot of them have come to see the show,” Julie stated.
The actress also shared a fun moment with Lea Michele, as she added, “I recently was doing Duolingo and I had a little sentence come up, and it said, ‘Julie and Lea are going to a party,’ so I sent it to Lea and I was like, ‘Lea, we’re going to a party.’ She was like, ‘Sounds great!'”
