Kanye West: Domestic Terrorist?
Kanye West has been making waves in Italy during his visit with his wife Bianca Censori. It appears that Kanye is again in breach of Italian laws due to the face masks he wears in public.
And no, we’re not talking about face masks that prevent the spread of diseases. We’re referring to full masks that cover his entire face. When Kanye and Bianca stayed in Italy for more than a month, Kanye was spotted wearing a mask in Venice and while he attended Fashion Week in Milan.
You may remember that Venice officials have already started investigating the couple after they were caught in a compromising position while riding a water taxi last month.
Aside from all the risqué and see-through outfits that Bianca has chosen to wear, she was seen kneeling in front of Kanye with her elbows resting on his knees. Kanye also had his share of indecency when he was caught exposing his buttocks.
Based on the ongoing investigation, the Venice police have already identified the water taxi’s driver. They have also asked the help of everyone globally who managed to take pictures of their indecent behavior.
On top of these ongoing investigations, Kanye faces another investigation, this time for breaching Italy’s Article 533 which is intended to fight domestic terrorism. Introduced in 1977, it forbids anyone from wearing articles of clothing that may prevent them from being identified unless there is a justifiable reason for it. Violations are punishable by fines between €1,000 and €2,000.
Additionally, “The only exceptions are for religious reasons, and a written authority must be obtained by the individual from local authorities.”
So far, neither Kanye nor his representative have released any statements about these developments.
It looks like the rapper is unperturbed by these events. Just last Friday, he was spotted in Milan. After attending Italian luxury designer Giuseppe Zano’s show, he had an interview with a local radio station. During the talk, Kanya was again wearing a complete face covering. In the middle of the show, he and his wife had a raucous photoshoot where he wore a black face mask and a hooded jacket while Bianca continued to wear one of her nude OOTDs.
Attorney Angelo Russo spoke to a news outlet, confirming that, “Wearing any item that covers your face and makes it difficult for a person to be identified by the forces of public security is an offense. The law was initially introduced during the 1970s when Italy suffered from domestic terrorism and then tightened further following international terror attacks.”
He further explained, “Obviously, there are exceptions. Wearing a scarf or balaclava over your face during the winter would be tolerated. But wearing a full face covering at any other time, particularly in good weather, would not be seen as reasonable, and the police would have permission to stop and question the individual.”
The rebellious Kanye isn’t new to entanglements with the law. He was arrested in 2008 and 2013 for attacking paparazzi who were trying to take his picture.
