Kardashian-Jenners Assists Non-Profit In Provision of Thanksgiving Meals Amidst Turkey Donation Shortage
The Kardashian-Jenner family is stretching a hand of charity to their community this Thanksgiving. Because of the famous family’s donation, the Union Station Homeless Services in Pasadena, California, will be able to hold this year’s “Dinner in the Park” Thanksgiving program.
Earlier this month, the social service agency for homeless and low-income people announced that it was falling short of frozen turkey donations ahead of its annual Thanksgiving program, which provides Thanksgiving meals for the poor and unsheltered. According to organizers, the cause had only collected 7 out of the 45 frozen turkeys it needed.
The Kardashian-Jenners have provided the nonprofit with as many turkeys as it needs to fulfill this year’s needs. To ensure that over 4,000 people can benefit from the meals, which include turkey and dressing, beverages, and pumpkin pie dessert, the family also donated 450 pies, 50 pounds of butter, 50 gallons of milk, and 150 pounds of produce and herbs.
While the celebrity family said nothing about the help they provided, Union Station thought their kind gesture deserved to be addressed beyond closed doors. The organization publicly thanked all the members of the family for their support. According to Pasadena Now, seven members of the family were involved in the contribution, including Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner.
“They saw our need for turkeys on the news last week. Not only did they provide turkeys, but they also stocked us with every perishable ingredient needed to serve over 4,000 Thanksgiving meals at our 52nd Annual Dinner in the Park!” officials said of the family.
Officials also said the family did more than throw money at the situation. Per People, they also took time out to ensure the purchase of the needed items. “The family didn’t hesitate to get together to all take part in calling stores in the area to purchase the items needed,” a source told the publication.
Come Thursday; Union Station will host private sit-down dinners for 550 residents living at interim housing locations. That is not the only program the Dinner in the Park initiative will have this year. This year’s outreach is divided into three, thanks to the Kardashian-Jenners’ bountiful contributions.
On Monday, the organization plans to distribute boxes of food items, including frozen turkeys, canned goods, potato mix, and stuffings, to people who would rather cook their meals at home. On Wednesday, people who want to enjoy their Thanksgiving meals at home can pick up already-prepared dinners.
