Kevin Hart Responds To Movie Roles-Stealing Accusation By Katt Williams
Kevin Hart isn’t letting recent criticism from fellow comedian Katt Williams dampen his spirits. The 44-year-old actor and comedian addressed Katt’s remarks during an interview with WSJ. Magazine, where he maintained a positive outlook despite the ongoing feud.
In response to Katt’s comments questioning the authenticity of Hart’s career success and criticizing his choice of movie roles, Kevin remained unfazed, emphasizing that he wishes the best for Katt. He expressed genuine happiness and confidence in his career and personal life, refusing to engage in negativity.
Defending his career choice, the Lift star said, “It’s just that. It’s entertainment. If that’s what he fuels himself off, God bless him. Good for him. I hope he gets all that he needs and he wants, and I’m here cheering for him from afar.”
“That’s my real energy. I really mean it! That’s how happy and secure I am with my career and my life,” he added.
Katt took aim at Kevin’s work during an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, alleging that the comedian and actor would snatch up movie roles that Katt had shown interest in. He also labeled Kevin a “gatekeeper” in the comedy industry, sparking further controversy.
In his words, “For a five year period, every single movie that Kevin Hart did was a movie that had been on my desk that all I had said was ‘Just can we take some of this step and fetching s— out and then I can do it?’”
“And me saying that and them going ‘oh yeah, no problem’ and then going to give it to this other guy and having him do it just like it was and acting like I’m a bad person because I keep standing on my standards. It’s interesting, but I wouldn’t change it for the world – again, I’m on the winning side of these decisions,” he added.
Calling him a “gatekeeper,” he said, “Didn’t Kevin open the gate and let Tiffany in? Ain’t he now opening it up for such and such? What do you mean there are no gatekeepers?”
This isn’t the first time Katt has voiced discontent towards Kevin and other comedians in the entertainment industry. In the past, he has expressed frustration over their rapid rise to success, prompting Kevin to defend himself and his colleagues by asking Katt to “take responsibility” for his own career.
Despite the ongoing feud, Hart remains focused on his career and continues to spread positivity. While Williams may harbor resentment, Hart chooses to rise above the drama and focus on his own journey.
