Khloe Kardashian Provides the First Glimpse of Her Face Incision After Melanoma Scare
The trailer of the third series of The Kardashians saw Khloe Kardashian talking about her cancer scare and revealing her melanoma scar for the first time. The mother-of-two gave her fans and followers a closer look at her vertical incision sans the bandage, which looked painful. The tumor was discovered on her left cheek and was diagnosed as melanoma last year.
It is expected that the upcoming Hulu reality show will closely follow Khloe’s battle with skin cancer and her healing journey.
In the postoperative photo, Khloe’s doctor even used a ruler and held it up against the freshly stitched wound to show that the operation left her four centimeters high.
The Good American founder opened up about her condition during the trailer and also used the opportunity to remind her followers that, yes, even if her surgery was a success, the reality is melanoma is deadly.
Khloe’s health scare took a massive toll on her both physically and emotionally, with her best friend Malika Haqq noting in the trailer that she has not seen Khloe so low in her life. The family’s matriarch also shared her worry, saying, “This, on her face, is very concerning.” Supermodel sister Kendall commented that Khloe has not been sleeping and has lost weight because of the ordeal.
Khloe is also predisposed to melanoma because, at the age of 19, she already had a melanoma removed from her back.
“At 19 years old, I had melanoma on my back, and I had a surgery to remove that as well, so I am pre-composed to melanomas.”
It was in October last year when the Kardashian sister finally talked about her condition, given that many of her fans were asking about the bandage on her face. It led to Khloe sharing on Instagram through a series of posts that she had to go under an immediate operation after she had a lingering bump on her cheek checked out, which turned out to be cancerous.
Khloe was also quick to reassure everyone that, after her surgery, her margins were all clear and that she could entirely focus on healing and recovery.
“I’m grateful to share that Dr. Fischer was able to get everything — all my margins appear clear and now we are onto the healing process,” wrote Khloe. “So, here we are… you’ll continue to see my bandages and when I’m allowed, you’ll probably see a scar (and an indentation in my cheek from the tumor being removed) but until then I hope you enjoy how fabulous I’m making these face bandages look.”
The teaser also includes Khloe’s family reacting to her health scare and their concerns.
Apart from Khloe’s cancer scare, the trailer also hinted at many more topics being explored, such as Khloe’s messy relationship with Tristian Thompson, Kim’s struggles with her ex Kanye West, and Kylie commenting on feeling regretful about her plastic surgeries.
The following season of The Kardashians, premiering on May 25, appears to have plenty of drama as the other sisters, Kylie, Kim, and Kourtney, also have some personal secrets to reveal.
