Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Relationship with Kanye West: “I Can’t Help Him If He Doesn’t Want It”
Kim Kardashian, in a recent insightful interview, provided a glimpse into her personal growth and reflections on her ex-husband Kanye West.
Speaking on the popular podcast On Purpose With Jay Shetty, the 42-year-old TV star and entrepreneur, delved into her thoughts on her ex-husband without explicitly mentioning his name.
During the interview, Kim expressed her inability to offer assistance to Kanye, emphasizing that he doesn’t appear to desire it. Despite the challenges they faced, she fondly described their marriage as “beautiful” for a significant period of time and firmly dismissed the notion that their union was a “failure.”
The couple’s divorce, which commenced in February of 2021, was finalized in November 2022. They share four children – North, aged nine; Saint, aged seven; Chicago, aged five; and Psalm, aged four.
On the podcast, Kim further elaborated on their divergent perspectives, highlighting their differing views as a substantial obstacle. She acknowledged that she lacked the power to impose her beliefs on someone who possessed contrasting opinions. The reality star emphasized the importance of respecting individual perspectives, acknowledging that attempting to force one’s own beliefs upon another person is futile.
“You can’t force your beliefs and project that on someone that thinks something totally different,” she stated.
Beyond her reflections on her marriage to West, Kim discussed her journey in finding love again after three divorces. Her previous marriages include Damon Thomas, a music producer whom she was married to from 2000 to 2004, and Kris Humphries, an NBA star, with whom her union lasted a mere 72 days in 2011.
Kim also briefly touched upon her recent romance with comedian Pete Davidson, indicating that they remain on friendly terms. The pair had a nine-month relationship from November of 2021 to August of 2022. During the 2023 Met Gala, the former couple had a cordial reunion, displaying an amicable rapport. Pete Davidson has since moved on and is currently dating 27-year-old actress Chase Sui Wonders.
Expressing her intention to approach dating with caution, the SKIMS founder underscored the complexities of pursuing romantic relationships while considering the presence of her children. Kim emphasized the need to learn from past mistakes and take ample time before entering into a new relationship. While she remains a self-proclaimed hopeless romantic, eager to share her life with someone, she acknowledged the need to be patient and avoid rushing into anything.
“’I definitely will take my time, and I think there’s so many factors especially when you have kids and being mindful of people that enter in your life,” she stated.
Despite her belief in the power of love, Kim stated that she does not rely on others to find happiness. Content with her life, her children, and the experiences she encounters, she expressed a sense of fulfillment. While she said she remains open to love, she asserted that she is not actively searching for it, opting instead to embrace the present moment.
