Kimberlin Brown Speaks About Saying Farewell To The Bold And The Beautiful After 35 Years
In a stunning turn of events, Kimberlin Brown, known for her iconic portrayal of Sheila Carter on The Bold and The Beautiful, bids farewell after more than three decades on the cherished CBS soap opera.
The final scene aired on Monday, leaving fans in disbelief as Sheila met her demise, stabbed by her daughter-in-law, Steffy Forrester, played by Jacqueline MacInnes Wood.
Reflecting on her departure, the 62-year-old actress, in an exclusive interview with TV Insider, admitted to the bittersweet nature of the moment. “Well, you know, it’s a tough place for me to be in right now; I’m not going to lie about this. I guess if anyone were going to take Sheila down, I’m happy it’s Steffy. I just wish that no one was taking Sheila down,” she confessed.
Expressing gratitude for her time on the show, Kimberly remarked, “It’s my happy place where I have been so blessed to be for over 35 years. But I’ve had a good run at it, so I’m one of the lucky ones, there’s no doubt about it.”
However, the departure wasn’t without its challenges. Kimberly shared the physical toll of portraying Sheila’s demise, saying, “Can I just say that the after effects for Sheila, laying on a concrete floor for hours, that really hurts! I was bruised for the week from laying on concrete!”
Despite the emotional and physical demands, she remains optimistic about the future. “Laying there on that floor when the paramedics pronounce the time of death, my eyes were closed and you’re holding your breath so it doesn’t look like you’re breathing,” she recalled. “It was just like, ‘Wow, OK, I guess we’ll have to see what might come next for me.'”
Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, who portrays Steffy, also weighed in on the pivotal moment. Calling it “bittersweet,” Jacqueline praised Kimberlin’s professionalism and creativity on set.
“I absolutely love working with Kimberlin; she is just the consummate professional. She elevates every scene and she’s so creative,” she stated.
While acknowledging the significance of the scene for her character, she stated, “For Steffy, hallelujah! This is her moment. How long has it taken Steffy to take her down and it’s finally happening, so it’s going to be a big shock. For someone who used to watch the show, and to [now] go toe-to-toe against Sheila, that’s a really cool moment.”
Kimberlin Brown’s journey as Sheila Carter began in 1990 on The Young and Restless before transitioning to The Bold and the Beautiful in 1992. Throughout her tenure, she garnered praise and accolades, including a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2022.
