Kourtney Kardashian’s Poosh Event Blasted by Malibu Mayor
Kourtney Kardashian-Baker, who recently showed her fully decorated home for Halloween, is suspected of renting another property and not telling the truth to the City Permits about why she needed the house.
Based on news obtained by TMZ, Mayor Bruce Silverstein accused Kourtney of allegedly using the home for a baby shower to get a permit. Instead, the house is being used for another reason—a promotional party for her lifestyle website Poosh.
According to Poosh’s website, it is “the modern guide to living your best life.” Its mission is “to educate, motivate, create, and curate a modern lifestyle, achievable by all.”
Based on Poosh’s Instagram account, the party that took place had the theme “Poolside with Poosh.” It shared the house’s blueprint and the different activities that would take place, including massages as well as nail and hair care treatments. Several brand ambassadors were also present at the event such as representatives from Wet Bar and 818 Tequila, her sister Kendall’s business.
Reps from Valmont Cosmetics, Sally Hensen, and Cover Girl also showed up. According to reports, they paid a certain amount to be part of the celebrations. According to the mayor, these details should have been disclosed when applying for a permit. He believes that the supposed event became a marketing and influencers’ get-together.
Troubled by the deception, the city mayor, Bruce Silverstein, published a Facebook post on September 21 that talked about preparations for an unauthorized gathering in the house next to his. The title of his post was, “City of Malibu Continues to Place Celebrities and the Uber Wealthy Over Residents: City Staff Sells Out to Kardashians and Grants Emergency Expedited Permit for Large Event in a Vacant Single-Family Home in Private Neighborhood.”
In his post, he wrote, “It is incredible and entirely unacceptable that the city staff, including the Chief Code Enforcement Officer, Planning Director, Interim City Attorney, and possibly the City Manager would join together to move heaven and earth to get this accomplished on no day’s advance notice for a wealthy celebrity when our residents are required to wait days, weeks and even months for such attention respecting matters of much greater concern.”
He went on to cite several issues that were in violation of the permit Kourtney applied for. It mentioned the fact that the affair took several days to set up and pull out. There were also no signages and vehicles blocked neighborhood roads.
The permit also claimed that there would be 94 guests who would be attending the baby shower. This is again different from what happened because almost 600 people showed up for the gathering.
However, one source claims that contrary to what the city mayor mentioned, the event was never formally called or described as a baby shower in the permit request.
Despite the large and elaborate event, Kourtney wasn’t there.
Since then, Mayor Silverstein has requested an internal investigation to determine how the permit was secured and to check if any of the city’s employees were involved in the fraud. There’s a high chance that the matter will be part of the main agenda during the Malibu City Council meeting on September 25.
